Chapter 495: The Pure-Clad Dark Heir 45

Tang Wan laughed after hearing Liu Shi’s words.

“Tong Tong also said I’m not fat. It seems I’m really not fat.”

Liu Shi immediately agreed,
“How could you be fat? This is just right. Look at your complexion—fair and rosy, like a celestial maiden. So beautiful!”

Tang Wan instantly brightened.
“My mother says so too. I also feel like my complexion has improved a lot recently.”

Little Cutie: …
Oh, woman.
Silently judging.

Lunch was held in the main hall of the Tang residence.

According to the rules, Yue Niang and Tang Li originally did not have the status to sit at the main table, but because the prince was present, both were allowed to join.

At the table, Zhou Shixi deliberately tried to make things awkward for Jiang Yuantong. Raising his wine cup, he said,
“Since we’ll be family from now on, come—let’s have a drink, brother-in-law.”

Jiang Yuantong looked confused.
“What is a brother-in-law, lady?”

Tang Wan explained calmly,
“It means he is either your wife’s brother or your sister’s husband.”

Jiang Yuantong nodded in realization.
“I see.”

Then he looked at Zhou Shixi and said earnestly,
“But we are not brothers-in-law. Grandfather said that the one you married, Tang Li, is a concubine-born daughter. If I call you brother-in-law casually, it might offend the prince.”

As soon as those words were spoken, Tang Li’s expression stiffened, and her hand under the table clenched tightly.

This fool actually dared to mock her status!

Zhou Shixi’s expression also became slightly awkward.

What King Lao Lin had taught was technically correct. If he didn’t favor Tang Li, such a form of address might indeed seem presumptuous. But now that he favored her, he naturally wanted to give her face.

Unfortunately, Jiang Yuantong was too straightforward and only followed what he had been taught.

And now, Tang Li would surely be displeased.

Thinking this, Zhou Shixi quickly smoothed things over.
“How could that be? Li’er and Tang Wan are sisters. How could I mind such a thing?”

Tang Wan spoke calmly,
“My husband is simple-minded. Please don’t blame him, Your Highness, Sister Ali.”

“It’s fine,” Zhou Shixi replied generously.

Tang Li suppressed her irritation and forced a graceful smile.
“Sister worries too much. The young master is just straightforward. How could His Highness take offense?”

The implication was clear—no one would bother arguing with a fool.

Tang Wan merely glanced at her lightly and smiled.
“That’s good.”

Then she picked up some food for Jiang Yuantong.
“Husband, eat more and grow stronger.”

Jiang Yuantong immediately nodded happily and ate obediently.

Seeing this, Tang Li felt slightly comforted.

In her eyes, Tang Wan was no different from someone coaxing a child.

She could only spend her life like this—with a fool.

After lunch, Tang Li originally intended to show off in front of Tang Wan—how favored she was in the Prince’s Mansion, how Zhou Shixi doted on her every night.

But Tang Wan gave her no opportunity at all.

As soon as the meal ended, after just a brief cup of tea, she left with Jiang Yuantong.

Given Jiang Yuantong’s condition, Father Tang did not insist on keeping them, and simply let them go.

Once they were back in the carriage, Tang Wan covered her mouth and said with a laugh,
“That mouth of yours—Tang Li probably wanted to tear it apart just now.”

Jiang Yuantong smiled, pulling her into his arms before gently covering her lips.

After a while, he looked at her with a soft smile.
“As long as the lady likes my mouth, that’s all that matters.”
