Chapter 470: The Pure-Clad Dark Heir 20

“I didn’t do anything. Didn’t Madam tell me to sleep?” Jiang Yuantong looked at Tang Wan with pure confusion.

Tang Wan narrowed her eyes slightly.

Then she pointed at the faint marks on her skin. “But last night, you weren’t obedient. Not only did you kiss me—you even… ignored what I said.”

Jiang Yuantong froze. “Ah? I didn’t! I really just went to sleep!”

“You even said Grandfather told you to stay close to me every night,” Tang Wan added.

“That is what Grandfather said… but you told me not to,” he replied quickly.

Seeing how genuine his reaction was, Tang Wan began piecing things together.

The daytime Jiang Yuantong had no memory of what happened at night.

But the one at night clearly remembered everything from the day.

At that moment, Jiang Yuantong grabbed her arm anxiously. “Madam… then who was with you last night? You’re my wife—you can’t be with anyone else!”

Tang Wan couldn’t help but laugh softly.

Who said he was foolish?

He understood exactly what mattered.

Reaching out, she tapped his forehead lightly. “It was you. Just… not the you standing here now.”

Jiang Yuantong scratched his head, confused. “I don’t understand.”

“In simple terms,” Tang Wan explained, “you become different at night. And when morning comes, you don’t remember anything. You should tell Grandfather about this—he might be able to find someone to investigate.”

In this world, she couldn’t easily seek help herself.

But the Lin Prince could.

Hearing this, Jiang Yuantong nodded, though still a little dazed.

Then his gaze drifted to the marks near her collarbone, and he stared.

Had he really done that?

Why didn’t he remember at all?

Seeing this, Tang Wan smiled faintly. “It’s nothing. I’ll apply some ointment later. You should get up.”

Jiang Yuantong nodded again, but his thoughts were already racing.

Tonight, I won’t sleep… I have to protect Madam.

After breakfast, Jiang Yuantong went to find the Lin Prince and repeated Tang Wan’s words.

The old prince’s expression changed immediately.

“She really said that?”

If not for the fact that he had people secretly watching the courtyard these past two nights—and confirming that no one else had entered—he might have suspected something far worse.

But he knew clearly: it had always been his grandson inside that room.

Jiang Yuantong nodded seriously. “Madam said so.”

The Lin Prince trusted his grandson’s memory.

After thinking for a moment, he said, “Tonight, you and Tang Wan will sleep separately.”

“I don’t want to!” Jiang Yuantong refused instantly.

What if that “other person” appeared again?

He had to stay by her side!

Seeing his stubborn expression, the Lin Prince sighed.

“But if you don’t, how can I investigate properly? For your wife’s sake, you’ll have to endure it—for one night.”
