Chapter 243: The Abstinent Gigolo 43
As instructed beforehand by Xi Jingtong, Grandma Xi opened the folder placed in front of her.
Unfortunately, she had
already forgotten all the complicated explanations he’d given her about company
shares and transfers.
But to Grandma Xi,
none of that mattered anyway.
The important thing
was simple—
These were the
betrothal gifts her grandson had prepared.
“This is Xiaotong’s
bride price,” Grandma Xi said proudly. “He earned all of it himself. I may not
understand what’s written on these papers, but I know Xiaotong is giving Wanwan
the best things he has.”
Then she pushed the
documents toward Father Tang and Mother Tang.
“You two should take a
look first.”
Hearing this, the
couple exchanged a glance before nodding.
Father Tang then
picked up the file and began reading through it carefully.
But after clearly
seeing the contents of the share transfer agreement, surprise immediately
flashed across his eyes.
He hadn’t expected Xi
Jingtong to actually be the hidden boss behind Dark Horse Security—the company
that had suddenly risen to prominence in the city last year.
Father Tang himself
had thought highly of the company and had even cooperated with them before.
But he never imagined
the company belonged to Xi Jingtong.
According to the
agreement, Xi Jingtong personally held fifty-five percent of the company’s
shares.
And now—
He was transferring
all of it to Tang Wan.
Not only that, there
was also a fifty-million-yuan cash gift, along with several properties in prime
locations.
Father Tang knew very
well that this was practically Xi Jingtong’s entire current net worth.
But what truly
impressed him wasn’t the amount of money.
It was Xi Jingtong’s
capability.
After all, the man
wasn’t even twenty-four yet.
Someone who could
build himself up to this level in just a single year would inevitably stand at
the top sooner or later.
For a moment, deep
satisfaction appeared across Father Tang’s face.
Then he handed the
documents to Tang Wan.
“Wanwan, since this is
Xiaotong’s sincerity, accept it.”
As he spoke, he
couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
Seeing his reaction,
both Tang Wan and Xi Jingtong quietly relaxed.
Tang Wan glanced at Xi
Jingtong, then accepted the share transfer agreement without any false modesty,
smiling as she put it away.
At that point, the
marriage between the two of them was officially settled.
…
At lunch, the
atmosphere at the dining table was extraordinarily harmonious.
Father Tang and Mother
Tang even invited Grandma Xi to stay longer for the holidays, though she
politely declined.
…
Afterward came the
discussion of the wedding itself.
Although Xi Jingtong
was still young, Tang Wan was already nearing thirty. So once the marriage was
settled, Father Tang and Mother Tang immediately urged the two of them to
register their marriage first.
Naturally, neither
Tang Wan nor Xi Jingtong had any objections.
The very next day, the
two went straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get their marriage
certificate.
After walking out of
the building, Tang Wan looked at Xi Jingtong and chuckled.
“Please take care of
me for the rest of my life, Mr. Xi.”
Xi Jingtong’s heart
trembled slightly at her words.
Then he lowered his
head, lifted her hand, and kissed it gently.
“There’s no need for
advice between us,” he said softly. “Because to me, you’re already the best
wife in the world, Mrs. Xi.”
Hearing this, Tang Wan
immediately broke into a radiant smile.
And that exact moment
happened to be captured by a passing photographer.
After taking the shot,
the photographer stared at the image for quite a while before hurriedly chasing
after them as they prepared to leave hand in hand.
“Wait! Please wait a
moment!” he called out while holding his camera.
Tang Wan and Xi
Jingtong paused.
“I’m sorry,” the
photographer said quickly. “I took your photo without permission. But please
believe me—it was only because the scene just now was so beautiful that I
instinctively pressed the shutter.”
Then he nervously
showed them the image on his camera.
“This is the photo I
just took. If you like it, I can send it to you. And if you feel uncomfortable
about it, I’ll delete it immediately.”
