Chapter 242: The Abstinent Gigolo 42

Hearing Tang Wan’s words, Xi Jingtong curled his lips slightly, then leaned down and kissed her softly.

“Only by becoming stronger can I protect you better when bad people appear,” he said in a low voice.

Then he suddenly smiled.

“By the way, today I’m going to your house to formally propose marriage. Help me tie my bow tie and give me some courage?”

Tang Wan’s eyes widened slightly at his words.

The next second, she immediately scrambled out of bed, grabbed the tie from his hand, and looped it around his neck.

“Of course, my husband!” she replied brightly.

Hearing that, Xi Jingtong couldn’t help letting out a low laugh.

His big baby was just too adorable.

After tying his bow tie, Tang Wan rushed toward the closet and began carefully choosing clothes.

After breakfast, the two of them drove together to pick up Grandma Xi.

Once they arrived downstairs at the luxury apartment complex where the Tang family lived, Xi Jingtong said, “Wanwan, go up first. Grandma and I will come a little later.”

Although he wanted to walk in beside her, today was different.

Today was a formal proposal.

Before the marriage proposal was accepted, it wasn’t proper for the woman to bring the man home together like that.

Tang Wan nodded obediently.

“Okay. See you later.”

“Mhm.”

Tang Wan arrived home very quickly.

Father Tang and Mother Tang were both home today.

The moment Mother Tang saw her enter, she immediately walked over.

“Wanwan’s back?”

“Mhm. Mom, Dad, Tongtong and Grandma Xi will be coming over soon,” Tang Wan said casually as she sat down.

The moment those words fell, both Father Tang and Mother Tang froze briefly.

Then Mother Tang’s face lit up with joy, mixed with a trace of reproach.

“Then why didn’t you tell us earlier?” she complained. “Good thing the house is fully prepared for New Year already! I need to go upstairs and change clothes first.”

After speaking, she hurried upstairs at once.

Meanwhile, Father Tang calmly picked up his teacup and took a sip as though nothing had happened. Then, “accidentally,” he spilled a little onto himself.

“Ah, my clothes got wet. I’ll go change too.”

As he stood up, he turned toward Tang Wan.

“Wanwan, help Dad bring out the Pu’er tea I left in the refrigerator.”

“Okay, Dad.” Tang Wan smiled knowingly.

After both of them changed clothes and came back downstairs, Tang Wan sent Xi Jingtong a message telling him he could come up now.

At that moment, Xi Jingtong was speaking seriously to Grandma Xi.

“Grandma, remember what you’re supposed to say later?”

Hearing this, Grandma Xi stroked the emerald ring on her finger with a composed expression.

“Relax, Xiaotong. Grandma definitely won’t embarrass you.” Then she added confidently, “That granddaughter-in-law of mine? Grandma has already decided on her.”

Xi Jingtong immediately smiled.

“Grandma’s the boldest.”

Only then did he carefully help Grandma Xi out of the car before accompanying her toward the Tang residence.

Grandma Xi was, after all, an elder.

Father Tang and Mother Tang had met her years ago and knew exactly who she was. So the moment they heard the doorbell ring, the couple personally went out to welcome her.

“Aunt Mei, you’re here! Please come in quickly! We haven’t seen each other in over ten years!” Father Tang and Mother Tang greeted warmly.

Seeing this, Grandma Xi smiled cheerfully.

“That’s right. More than ten years already.”

After entering the house, Tang Wan sat beside the tea table and began preparing tea.

Grandma Xi watched her with unconcealed affection.

And when Father Tang and Mother Tang noticed that gaze, the last bit of tension in their hearts finally eased.

After chatting for a while, Grandma Xi finally reached out and opened the gifts Xi Jingtong had prepared in advance, neatly laying them across the coffee table.

Then she looked toward Father Tang and Mother Tang and spoke directly.

“Xiao Tang, you both already know why we came today.”

“The two children aren’t young anymore. It’s about time they got married.”

“Don’t worry. If Wanwan marries into our family, I absolutely won’t let her suffer any grievances.”

“You also know about Xiaotong’s condition, so you won’t need to worry about us pressuring them over children or anything like that.”
