Chapter 24: Diablo 21
When Tang Yitong noticed Tang Wan suddenly looking at him, panic flashed through his cold, deep eyes.
Oops.
Had she noticed him staring at her?
Would she ask him what he was doing?
Just as Tang Yitong was thinking this, he saw Tang Wan already turning toward the bathroom to wash up.
Only then did he quietly let out a sigh of relief.
What he didn’t know was that Tang Wan’s thoughts were actually very simple.
No matter why his favorability increased, as long as it increased, it was a good thing.
Anyway, from now on, she and Tang Yitong would be living together, so there would be plenty of time to slowly raise his favorability.
After breakfast, the two carried their school bags and headed to school together.
They were both now in their third year of high school.
Although Tang Yitong’s grades had always appeared mediocre, Tang Wan knew very clearly from the system that he was actually an academic genius. He only deliberately hid his abilities because he was afraid that if his grades became too good, Tang Wan would bully him even more.
So Tang Wan quickly rolled her eyes and looked toward Tang Yitong.
“Tongtong! I heard you ranked last in the previous monthly exam?”
Hearing this, Tang Yitong quietly looked at her and waited for what she would say next.
In reality, those exam questions were child’s play to him.
But because Tang Wan used to hate him, performing too well would only attract even more hostility from her, so he intentionally kept scoring poorly every time.
But what was she trying to say now?
...
“Well... what about it?” Tang Yitong asked quietly.
Hearing this, Tang Wan immediately said in a serious and earnest tone:
“You can’t keep doing this! We’re almost in senior year now, and the college entrance exams are coming soon. If your grades stay this terrible, you won’t get into university at all. If you fail, Zhao Xia definitely won’t care about you anymore, so you need to work harder!”
“You want me to get good grades?” Tang Yitong asked.
“Of course! You’re my younger brother now. If your grades are terrible, won’t that embarrass me too? How about this—if you improve your ranking by ten places next time, I’ll grant you one wish!” Tang Wan deliberately said.
Not to mention improving by ten places—even taking first place would be easy for this guy.
But if she framed it this way, then their relationship could naturally become closer.
Tang Yitong stared at her for two seconds before finally nodding.
“Okay. It’s a deal.”
“A promise is a promise!” Tang Wan said with a smile as she stretched out her pinky finger.
Seeing this, Tang Yitong tightened his palm slightly before reaching out and hooking pinkies with Tang Wan.
The soft touch of her fingers instantly made his palm feel hot.
But he quickly withdrew his hand as though nothing had happened.
At that moment, a car stopped at the school gate.
Soon afterward, Zhou Weiwei jumped out and waved excitedly toward Tang Wan.
“Wanwan!”
Then she quickly ran over to Tang Wan’s side.
Seeing Tang Wan and Tang Yitong arriving at school together peacefully, Zhou Weiwei looked somewhat surprised.
“Wanwan, you and him...” Zhou Weiwei hesitated as though unsure what to say.
“It’s nothing. Tongtong and I made up. I’ll tell you more after we get to class,” Tang Wan replied with a smile.
Zhou Weiwei could only suppress her confusion and nod.
After arriving near the teaching building, Tang Wan waved toward Tang Yitong.
“Goodbye, Tongtong. Wait for me at lunch so we can eat together.”
“Okay,” Tang Yitong replied.
Only after watching Tang Wan disappear around the corner of the building did he silently turn and walk toward Class F—the worst class in the school.
...
After Tang Wan entered the classroom, her classmates immediately looked toward her.
“Tang Wan, are you alright? I heard you got into a car accident!”
Tang Wan responded with a faint smile, polite yet distant.
After she sat down, the girl beside her on the left looked at her worriedly.
“Wanwan, how’s your health now?”
This beautiful girl was the heroine of this world—Yun Nuan.
