Chapter 230: The Abstinent Gigolo 30

Tang Wan also rushed to the hospital early the next morning.

When she finally found Xi Jingtong, he was sitting alone in the hospital smoking area.

A cigarette rested between his fingers, and exhaustion was clearly visible on his face.

It was obvious he hadn’t slept the entire night.

Seeing this, Tang Wan walked over in her heels, took the cigarette from his hand, and stubbed it out in the ashtray beside him.

“Why are you here?” Xi Jingtong looked at her steadily, clearly not expecting her to appear.

Tang Wan replied naturally:

“My boyfriend disappeared overnight without coming home. Of course I had to come look for him.”

Then she handed him a bag.

“I don’t know how to cook, so I bought breakfast from a shop on the way here. Eat something first.”

“…Okay.” Xi Jingtong nodded quietly.

Afterward, the two found a nearby place to sit down and eat.

Only after watching him finish several steamed dumplings did Tang Wan finally ask:

“Why didn’t you tell me about Grandma earlier?”

Hearing this, Xi Jingtong’s chopsticks paused slightly.

Then he said softly:

“You’ve already helped me enough.”

“You don’t need to worry about my grandmother’s situation too.”

If not for the ten million Tang Wan had given him before, he would probably still be desperately worrying over surgery fees right now.

But after hearing this, Tang Wan’s face immediately darkened.

“Tongtong, what kind of nonsense is that?”

“What do you mean I don’t need to worry about it?”

“You’ve taken care of me for so long, yet I’ve barely done anything for you.”

“Now that I finally have a chance to help you, you still won’t let me?”

“If you refuse to tell me anything, then I’ll say it clearly myself—”

“I’m going to help take care of Grandma.”

Xi Jingtong was momentarily stunned by her sudden anger.

But he also knew she was genuinely worried about him.

So he quickly explained:

“That’s not what I meant.”

“You already gave me ten million. That’s the greatest help possible.”

“Thanks to that money, I don’t even need to worry about medical fees anymore.”

“Really?” Tang Wan stared at him skeptically.

“Really.” Xi Jingtong nodded immediately.

Then his voice softened slightly.

“If it weren’t for you, I’d probably still be running around desperately trying to raise money.”

“So Wanwan…”

“Don’t think you’ve done nothing for me.”

“Just your appearance in my life alone…”

“…is already the greatest gift.”

Without her—

he honestly didn’t know what his life would’ve become by now.

Hearing this, Tang Wan finally smiled.

“Good.”

“Then hurry and eat. After breakfast, we’ll go see Grandma together.”

“Okay.”

After Xi Jingtong finished the breakfast Tang Wan brought, the two headed together toward the ICU ward.

As if sensing someone’s arrival, Grandma Xi slowly opened her weak eyes.

The moment she saw Xi Jingtong standing beside a young girl, her dim eyes suddenly lit up brightly.

“Xiaotong… she… she is…?” Grandma Xi asked hopefully.

Tang Wan immediately stepped forward and spoke gently.

“Hello, Grandma. I’m Tongtong’s girlfriend.”

“My name is Tang Wan.”

The moment she heard the name, Grandma Xi froze.

Then she stared carefully at Tang Wan’s face before murmuring in disbelief:

“You… you’re that little girl…”

“Tang Desheng’s daughter… right?”

No wonder she had looked familiar.

Tang Wan immediately pretended to look surprised.

“Yes. Grandma knows me?”

After hearing this confirmation, Grandma Xi instantly muttered emotionally:

“Fate… this really is fate…”

Who would’ve imagined that the little girl Xiaotong saved over ten years ago…

would one day become his girlfriend?

But then another thought struck her.

Did Tang Wan know about Xiaotong’s physical condition?

Thinking of this, Grandma Xi couldn’t help looking toward Xi Jingtong.

“Xiaotong,” she said slowly, “I want to speak with Wanwan alone for a moment.”

“You wait outside first.”

The moment those words landed, Xi Jingtong’s hands tightened subconsciously.

He knew exactly what his grandmother wanted to say.

And for the first time in a long while—

he felt fear.

He was afraid that once Tang Wan learned the truth…

once she knew he wasn’t even a complete man physically…

she would feel disgusted.

Would regret choosing him.

Would want to leave him.

But very quickly—

another darker thought surged through his mind.

Leave?

Impossible.

Since you already took my heart…

then you can only stay beside me forever.
