Chapter 17: Diablo 14
But Tang Yitong never showed any of this to anyone.
The weekly computer class at school had become his favorite and most anticipated lesson.
And now, Tang Wan was actually throwing away this old computer...
If he secretly picked it up and used it, she probably wouldn’t get angry, right?
...
After a while, Tang Wan rubbed her forehead tiredly and said:
“I don’t know where I lost the SIM card. I’ll get one for you after I recover.”
Tang Yitong gave a quiet hum in response.
At that moment, Tang Wan collapsed onto the bed without any regard for her image.
“Alright, you can go back now.”
Tang Yitong stood up and nodded before picking up the phone and old laptop and turning to leave.
After stepping out of Tang Wan’s room, Tang Yitong couldn’t help secretly glancing back at her door.
Then, feeling strangely guilty, he quickly carried the old laptop back toward his own room.
His room was located at the far eastern end of the second floor. It had originally been a storage room before being remodeled.
But for Tang Yitong, this room was already considered very large.
After quickly entering his room, Tang Yitong finally let out a sigh of relief.
Then he carefully placed the laptop on the desk and pressed the power button.
Although Tang Wan called it an old computer, it actually booted up within only a few seconds.
As soon as the computer turned on, a high-definition image of Tang Wan dancing ballet appeared on the screen.
This was a photo taken when the original owner participated in a ballet competition at the age of nine.
Back then, she still didn’t know about Tang Wansong’s betrayal and believed herself to be a happy little girl, so the Tang Wan in the photo smiled brightly and confidently.
The original owner had loved this photo very much, which was why she had specifically used it as the computer wallpaper.
But ever since her biological mother died, Tang Wan had never touched this computer again.
Tang Yitong stared silently at the photo for a long time.
The Tang Wan in this picture had once been the type of child he envied most.
But ever since meeting Tang Wan, he had never seen that kind of smile on her face again.
As for what changed her, the reason was obvious.
Thinking of this, Tang Yitong suddenly felt that Tang Wan wasn’t truly hateful.
She was simply another innocent victim.
...
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! Tang Yitong’s favorability increased again! The progress bar has now reached 30%!” Little Cutie announced excitedly.
“So fast? Did the old phone and old laptop really make him that happy?” Tang Wan asked in surprise.
“It’s not because of the phone or laptop. It’s because he saw the original owner’s childhood photo. I timed it—he stared at the ballet photo for one minute and twenty seconds!” Little Cutie explained.
“A photo? There are photos of the original owner on that laptop? Why didn’t you tell me?” Tang Wan had no idea.
Little Cutie immediately grinned proudly.
“You didn’t ask!”
“If I don’t ask, you won’t say anything? Besides that, is there anything else private on there?” Tang Wan asked immediately.
“Of course! That computer contains photos and videos of Tang Wan from birth all the way to the present!”
“Really? That’s perfect!” Tang Wan clapped her hands happily.
She had been wondering how to make Tang Yitong realize that the original owner was once a cute and lovable little girl too.
Now things were easy.
With those old photos and videos, wouldn’t Tang Yitong naturally start changing his opinion of her?
...
Meanwhile, after hesitating for a while, Tang Yitong slowly opened one of the folders on the computer.
The moment the folder opened, countless photos and videos recorded over the years by Mother Tang appeared in front of him.
Tang Yitong clicked on one of the videos.
The next moment, an adorable baby wearing a little deer costume appeared in front of the camera, blinking her big eyes and pouting cutely.
