Chapter 1507: Her Highness the Princess (57)

Naturally, the people Tang Xi sent were unable to invite Lü Yuzhi.

After hearing the report from her servants, Tang Xi felt somewhat annoyed that Lü Yuzhi had refused to give face to a princess like her.

The next day, as she happened to pass by Lü Yuzhi's clinic, she immediately ordered her attendants to help her down from the carriage and marched straight into the clinic.

She saw Lü Yuzhi taking a patient's pulse, seemingly not noticing her at all.

One of Tang Xi's palace maids stepped forward and declared, “The Second Princess is here. Why aren't you paying your respects?”

Lü Yuzhi glanced at Tang Xi, released the patient's wrist, stood up, and bowed respectfully. “This commoner greets Your Highness the Second Princess. If Your Highness has come for treatment, please send someone to reserve a number in two days. This commoner is currently attending to patients. I have neglected Your Highness, and I ask for your forgiveness.”

Tang Xi had originally intended to seize upon Lü Yuzhi's disrespect and make an issue out of it.

Unexpectedly, the girl was so tactful. She paid her respects properly and spoke politely, leaving no fault to pick at.

If she became angry now, she would have no justification. Others would laugh at her, and if word got out, people would once again compare her to her imperial elder sister.

“This Princess is feeling unwell. Attend to me first.”

The patient sitting before Lü Yuzhi immediately prepared to stand up and surrender his place.

His illness wasn't urgent. He could queue again later. It would be terrible if the princess made things difficult for the Little Divine Doctor.

But before he could move, Lü Yuzhi pressed down on his shoulder and said, “Sit properly. I'm treating you.”

“Your Highness the Second Princess, if you wish to see a doctor, please queue. Here, there is no distinction between noble and common. There is only first come, first served. Yuzhi believes the imperial capital is a good place because it is fair and seldom sees the powerful bullying others. Surely Your Highness understands that?”

“So you're saying that if this Princess insists on treatment, I'll be bullying others with my power?” Tang Xi was displeased. A mere female physician actually dared to speak to her like this. At last, she'd found a fault.

The patients waiting in line were all preparing to let Tang Xi go first, but Lü Yuzhi stopped them. With a serious little face, she said, “I only treat those who have reserved their place. I remember every single person here clearly. Whoever wants treatment must queue. Those are the rules.”

“So you're the Little Divine Doctor?” Tang Xi curled her lips into a smile. “A Little Divine Doctor with such a straightforward temper is truly rare. The last person who was like you has already—”

“Already what?”

Before Tang Xi could finish, Tang Guo's voice drifted from the back.

That gentle and melodious voice was one Tang Xi knew all too well.

She abruptly raised her head and saw Tang Guo walking out from the rear of the clinic.

Yingzhu was still the same as ever. Wherever Tang Guo went, she always carried a tray of snacks in her hands.

Tang Xi's lips trembled, and even her legs began to shake.

“Imperial Sister, why are you here?”

“This clinic was funded by me. Whenever I have nothing to do, I like coming here to sit and observe birth, aging, sickness, death, and the many facets of life.”

System: The host is boasting again. Look at how she's frightened Tang Xi into a daze.

Tang Xi's expression turned ugly. “So this clinic belongs to Imperial Sister. Why haven't I heard anyone mention it?”

“Didn't I just return to the imperial capital not long ago? Besides, this clinic exists to treat the sick and save lives. How could it advertise itself every day like others do? Yuzhi's medical skills are excellent. Even without publicity, patients come endlessly. Since Yuzhi can't handle them all alone, she only sees twenty patients a day.”
