Chapter 1449: The Blackened Good Girl (84)

“Don’t worry. None of you will die.”

Tang Guo looked at the gangsters curled up on the ground, clutching themselves in agony, their faces deathly pale. Brother Dao was among them.

“Death would be too easy for you.”

It wasn't that they didn't want to resist. Under this mysterious woman's hands, none of them had the ability to fight back.

“Who are you?” Brother Dao's boss, the greasy-looking man, endured the pain and stared at Tang Guo with venomous eyes.

From the look in his eyes, he clearly intended to take revenge in the future.

Tang Guo had no intention of telling him who she was. Nor would she remove her mask and leave behind evidence. Only a fool would do that.

“I am… an avenger returned from hell.”

Not getting the answer he wanted, Brother Dao's boss was unwilling to accept it.

But as long as he lived another day, no matter the cost, he swore he would find this hateful woman.

Whether she was a god or a Buddha, he would kill her.

Yet half an hour later, when the police surrounded the place and everyone inside was arrested, he realized something was wrong.

He had always believed he held leverage over many respectable people who secretly engaged in all kinds of filthy deeds.

He had assumed that, to save themselves, they would do everything possible to get him out.

But that wasn't what happened.

Instead, he met those same people in the police station.

Watching them all get caught one after another, only two words flashed through his mind.

It's over.

A massive prostitution and organized crime case was uncovered in the city, involving an extensive network. The evidence gathered by the System for Tang Guo was simply too complete. The sudden appearance of overwhelming evidence caught everyone off guard, and all of them were brought down.

When the news was reported, Tang Guo and Qiao Ge were sitting together on the sofa in their living room and saw it as well.

Tang Guo no longer cared about what came next.

She had done what she wanted to do.

With that evidence in hand, no one would escape punishment.

As for why all those gangsters had become eunuchs, most people simply assumed that they had done too many evil things and someone had retaliated against them.

As for who had carried out the revenge, there was no way to investigate, and compared to the crimes they had committed, that matter seemed insignificant.

People everywhere discussed the incident, including those at Tang Guo's company.

Yet no one ever suspected Tang Guo.

Because from childhood to adulthood, she had always appeared so brilliant, forever standing in the brightest and most dazzling place.

When Wu Lingling heard that the gangsters had been arrested, she couldn't help laughing loudly.

But after laughing, she felt that the whole world had become dark.

Lu Jing no longer wanted her.

No matter how much she cried, begged, or pitied herself, Lu Jing refused to see her.

The gangsters had been arrested, leaving her with no one to rely on.

In the end, she chose to return home.

“You jinx! What are you doing back here? Haven't you shamed us enough?”

Wu Lingling knocked on the door of her family home. Wu Jun had been drinking, and seeing her only filled him with anger. He slapped her across the face.

“Get out! I don't have a daughter as disgraceful as you.”

Wu Lingling glared at Wu Jun resentfully. He cursed and slammed the door shut.

She remained outside until Qin Ruolan returned.

“Mom,” she called softly.

“What are you doing here?” Qin Ruolan subconsciously glanced around, seemingly checking whether anyone might see Wu Lingling standing there, afraid of being discovered.
