Chapter 1431: The Blackened Good Girl (66)
Tang Guo was amused by Qiao Ge's sincere words and serious expression. As she ate the food he had personally prepared, she smiled and said, "If you want to marry me, Gege, you'll have to work harder."
"I will. I've been working hard every day."
"Have you eaten?" Tang Guo suddenly asked. Seeing him about to speak, she interrupted, "If you want to marry me, the first condition is that you're not allowed to lie to me."
"Not yet. I haven't had the chance." Qiao Ge's eyes carried a trace of helplessness. He didn't dare lie to her and answered honestly.
"Then let's eat together."
"I'd better not." Qiao Ge refused. "If I eat, there won't be enough for you. You won't be full, and you'll be hungry again this afternoon."
Tang Guo curved her lips into a smile. "You'll bring me food this afternoon anyway. What's there to worry about? Or are you not coming?"
"Of course I'll come," Qiao Ge replied quickly.
Then he saw Tang Guo pick up some food with her chopsticks and bring it to his mouth.
His heart skipped a beat, nearly leaping out of his chest.
This was probably the most intimate moment they had shared in all these years.
"Gege, open your mouth."
Qiao Ge obediently opened his mouth, his gaze filled with affection and fixed upon her face. The food she fed him tasted seven times better than before, and those extra seven parts came entirely from the joy born of her concern.
"Let's go, hurry. Doctor Qiao is showing off his love with his girlfriend again."
"Go, go, go. It's broad daylight—are they trying to kill us?"
The two of them fed each other mouthful after mouthful, completely unaware that everyone else sitting at the tables beneath the shade had already left.
They simply couldn't endure these two. Every day, whenever mealtime came, they would openly display their affection, leaving everyone else miserable.
Rumor had it that in order to pursue Campus Belle Tang, Doctor Qiao had gone from being the doctor at her high school to becoming the doctor at her university.
And they knew those older doctors in the infirmary as well. They were famous specialists and attending physicians from major hospitals.
What was unbelievable was that such distinguished people had come to their school to work as unpaid campus doctors.
Yet in front of Doctor Qiao, they were always courteous and smiling.
At first, no one understood why.
Later, they accidentally learned some things, including the medical book Qiao Ge had compiled containing all his current understanding and insights into medicine.
Only then did they realize that the young Doctor Qiao was no ordinary person.
The first people to know his worth had been the medical students. Every time they saw him, their eyes sparkled with admiration.
Among the girls in the school, the one they envied most was Tang Guo.
Other people's boyfriends spoiled their girlfriends like princesses.
Doctor Qiao, however, treated Campus Belle Tang like an empress.
As for the boys, they envied Qiao Ge for winning the affection of the number one beauty in the university.
Tang Guo wasn't merely outstanding academically. Whatever she participated in, the results always turned out perfectly.
No matter how anyone looked at it, the two of them were exceptionally well matched.
After they had finally finished the meal one bite at a time, Qiao Ge carried the lunchbox in one hand while holding Tang Guo's hand with the other, slowly walking away.
The previously empty tables and chairs were soon occupied once more.
It wasn't that people didn't want to sit close to them.
They simply couldn't withstand bowl after bowl of dog food.
Stay around them long enough, and sooner or later, you'd turn into a sour lemon spirit.
Such beautiful love was something everyone envied.
But deep down, they knew they could never have it.
"Guoguo, I took a picture just now."
