Chapter 1417: The Blackened Good Girl (52)

“Uncle Lin, you know how it is.” Qiao Ge maintained his smile. “The students are under a lot of pressure right now. They need proper nutrition so they don't end up dizzy or physically weak.”

Principal Lin: No, I don't know. I know absolutely nothing.

“Students? Which students? Doctor Qiao, I didn't know you cared so much about our students. Since you're so free, how about helping out in the cafeteria?”

“Uncle Lin, what would you like to eat? I'll make an extra portion this afternoon. By the way, I'm planning to stew some pumpkin and mung bean soup. Would you like some?”

Principal Lin's stern expression immediately softened into a smile. Patting Qiao Ge on the shoulder, he whispered, “No sugar in the soup. Use less salt in the dishes and add more chili.”

“Understood, Uncle Lin.”

“Qiao Ge, you're always running off to the market and cooking. What about the infirmary?” Principal Lin's expression became serious again. “Don't forget you're the school doctor. The weather's hot now. What if something happens to a student while you're gone and no one can find you?”

Qiao Ge wasn't worried in the slightest and replied confidently, “I've taken on two apprentices. They don't want salaries, don't need me to feed them, and are even willing to work under me for free. Uncle Lin, don't worry. They're more than capable of handling the school's minor problems.”

Principal Lin blinked in confusion. “When did this happen? How come I didn't know?”

“If you're worried, come back to the infirmary with me and take a look. Their skills are absolutely fine, and they don't even ask for money. Free labor. Isn't that a good thing?”

Principal Lin really was worried.

Not because Qiao Ge would do anything inappropriate.

Take the fact that Qiao Ge had his eye on the school's most outstanding girl. All he did was bring her food and hand her drinks. He hadn't even uttered a single inappropriate word.

And most of the time, whenever he spoke with the girl, he maintained a respectful distance. Two whole years had passed, and he hadn't even held her hand once.

Thinking of that, Principal Lin suddenly felt he might have been too strict.

Come to think of it, Qiao Ge was rather pitiful.

Still, Principal Lin thought it was good that things remained this way. It prevented other students from following suit.

Qiao Ge was restrained, polite, and always considerate of the girl. In fact, many female students had begun to realize just how frivolous the boys around them were.

Truth be told, ever since Qiao Ge appeared, puppy love at their school had noticeably decreased.

Whenever boys pursued girls, the girls instinctively compared them to Qiao Ge before asking a question that made the boys cough blood.

“Can you cook?”

Boy: “I can, but maybe it won't taste very good. Still, I'll improve.”

Girl: “You play basketball every day. Do you even have time to learn? You still have classes. Can you bring me meals every day?”

Boy: “…”

Sorry for bothering you.

Some boys would try to hold hands with their girlfriends.

The girls would immediately shake them off.

“Let's break up. You're too frivolous. We've only been together for a week and you're already trying to hold my hand. Did you date me just for that? I'd rather believe you wanted to copy my homework than think you only wanted to hold my hand.”

Boy: “?”

The boys across the entire school collectively gave up.

Forget dating.

Studying was far more interesting than girlfriends.

Principal Lin followed Qiao Ge back to the infirmary.

The moment he saw several familiar faces in their thirties inside, he nearly dropped to his knees before Qiao Ge.

This…

This…

Qiao Ge was playing way too big.
