Chapter 1406: The Blackened Good Girl (41)
During the New Year family gathering, Qin Ruolan hardly mentioned Wu Lingling anymore.
Tang Guo remained the most dazzling among her generation.
Surrounded by all her cousins, what was supposed to be a family reunion somehow turned into a study session, with everyone holding test papers and asking her questions.
After Tang Guo's birthday party, they had privately created a group chat. Whenever they encountered difficult problems, they would post them there. Whenever Tang Guo had time, she would help them solve them.
Her explanations were detailed and easy to understand, allowing their grades to improve considerably.
Because of Tang Guo's advice, they had all begun focusing on areas they were good at, and their families wholeheartedly supported them.
Perhaps because they were studying things they genuinely liked, even their performance in other subjects had improved.
These relatives all liked Tang Guo and were grateful to her.
If she hadn't pointed it out, they would never have known that their children possessed such talents in certain areas.
Tang Guo's cousin had already started preparing for Mathematical Olympiad competitions. The cousin who was talented in painting had begun formal art lessons. As for the others, their families spared no expense and focused on cultivating their strengths as long as the children enjoyed them.
Most importantly, their grades were no longer poor. They were all above average, and combined with their individual talents, their futures had become far clearer than before.
Qin Ruolan watched as all the children gathered around Tang Guo, chatting and laughing, and listened to the others talk about how much their children's grades had improved.
Then she glanced at Wu Lingling, who sat off to the side with a look of disdain on her face. Walking over, she tugged at her gently and whispered, “Why don't you go play with Cousin Xiaoguo? Look at everyone getting along so well. You're sitting here eating sunflower seeds all by yourself. Doesn't that make you seem too unsociable?”
“Mom, leave me alone. It's New Year's. Instead of eating snacks, they're discussing studies. I have no interest in that.”
At the mention of Tang Guo, Wu Lingling's heart filled with hatred.
If not for Tang Guo, would she have ended up so miserable? Would she be living in constant fear while dating Lu Jing, threatened by Brother Dao with those photos?
It was all Tang Guo's fault. If she hadn't lost her phone, none of those things would have happened.
And if those things hadn't happened, she wouldn't have been expelled.
Play with Tang Guo?
She didn't want to at all. Deep down, she even maliciously wished that one day Tang Guo would fall into Brother Dao's hands.
Then she'd see how Tang Guo could continue showing off.
Wasn't she just good at studying? What was so impressive about that?
Afraid of provoking her daughter, Qin Ruolan didn't say anything more.
Listening to the others discuss their children's improved grades, she felt miserable inside.
These relatives were all smart people.
Wu Lingling's incident had caused quite a stir. So they only discussed their own children's progress and never publicly asked Qin Ruolan about Wu Lingling's grades.
A girl who had never behaved properly since childhood and had even deliberately brought good students to those hoodlums had completely shattered their worldview. They absolutely would not allow their own children to associate with her.
A child who had been so malicious since she was young was nearly sixteen now. They doubted she could ever change.
Not only did they refrain from asking Qin Ruolan how Wu Lingling was doing, they didn't ask about her grades either, choosing instead to simply ignore her.
In truth, they were somewhat afraid.
They feared that Wu Lingling, despite her young age, harbored vicious thoughts. If they angered her, would she team up with those thugs to harm their children?
So showing off in front of her or expressing concern for her studies was best avoided.
She probably wouldn't think they cared anyway. Instead, she'd believe they were mocking her and looking down on her, and would only end up resenting them. It wasn't worth the trouble.
Since no one came over to ask about her, Wu Lingling secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
But hearing the lively debate over a problem from the other side made her feel miserable. She could only keep cracking sunflower seeds nonstop to ease the bitterness in her heart.
Host, she's feeling awful.
“Good,” Tang Guo replied. “That's exactly how it should be.”
