Chapter 1399: The Blackened Good Girl (34)

Everyone now knew that despite her young age, Wu Lingling harbored malicious intentions.

Thanks to Miao Rourou's reminder, the surveillance footage outside the school had been retrieved.

The evidence clearly showed that Wu Lingling and the other girls had deliberately taken Miao Rourou away and handed her over to the hoodlums, nearly causing a terrible tragedy. With the evidence laid out before them, there was no room for denial.

Even Brother Dao hadn't expected things to blow up over something as simple as fooling around with a schoolgirl.

Although he would probably only be detained for a while, he was still furious.

The school's decision came quickly.

Wu Lingling and the other delinquent girls were expelled.

Such vile behavior was unacceptable to any school. If they failed to make a clear statement, what parent would dare trust them with their children in the future?

Since Wu Lingling was still a minor, her identity was censored even when the incident made the news.

Qin Ruolan was dumbfounded.

Crying, she came to Mother Tang.

Tang Guo sat nearby watching television while listening to Qin Ruolan cry for a long time.

“Big Sister, you can't just ignore this. Could you talk to the school? I'll discipline Lingling properly. It's already the second semester of the third year. At the very least, she should be allowed to take the entrance exams. Now that this incident has become public, which school in the city would still dare accept her?”

“This girl really disappoints me. All she knows is how to cause trouble instead of learning from Xiaoguo.” Looking at the obedient Tang Guo beside her, Qin Ruolan continued, “Xiaoguo, when you see Lingling, you should talk to her more. Maybe this wouldn't have happened. Lingling is still just a child. How could she understand these things?”

Mother Tang had originally sympathized with her, but hearing those words immediately made her uncomfortable.

“How is this Xiaoguo's fault?” Mother Tang frowned unhappily. “Xiaoguo devotes herself to her studies. She's not Lingling's nanny. How could she possibly watch her twenty-four hours a day? Besides, Xiaoguo is only one year older than Lingling. You know how Lingling treats her. Would she even listen to Xiaoguo?”

“If you ask me, the reason Lingling has turned out this way is because you adults have neglected her. I warned you before to pay more attention to her. Now that something has happened, if it isn't the parents' responsibility, whose is it?” Mother Tang was thoroughly displeased. “I'm just grateful Lingling didn't set her sights on Xiaoguo. Ruolan, I don't like what you're saying.”

Qin Ruolan stammered, unable to reply.

In front of Mother Tang, she had no confidence whatsoever.

After being rebuked into silence, she thought for a moment and said, “Big Sister, that's not what I meant. I just thought that if Xiaoguo spent more time with Lingling, maybe Lingling would improve.”

Mother Tang laughed in exasperation.

“And if your Lingling led my Xiaoguo astray, who would take responsibility?”

“I…”

“Ruolan, today's mistake is the result of you and Wu Jun failing to guide her and failing to spend your energy educating her. If you don't discipline a child when they're young, you won't be able to control them when they're older. And don't push responsibility onto my Xiaoguo. She's only a sixteen-year-old girl herself.”

“You should reflect on yourself. As for asking the school not to expel her, that's impossible. Even if the principal and I are classmates, there's no room for negotiation. Your Lingling went too far. She treated a classmate like that. No school would dare keep her.”

“Th-then… what should I do, Big Sister?” Qin Ruolan had always believed that Wu Lingling was clever and would achieve great things one day.

“Transfer her to another school.”
