Chapter 1394: The Blackened Good Girl (29)

After learning that Wu Lingling had grown close to the hoodlums outside the school, Father Tang and Mother Tang also changed the way they worked. No longer did they devote themselves entirely to their careers.

Where they used to return home only once every half month, or even once a month, they now made sure to come back at least twice a week.

Basically, every Friday, either Father Tang or Mother Tang would personally drive over to pick Tang Guo up from school.

Tang Guo was quite satisfied with this outcome.

The sight of her parents coming to pick her up was occasionally noticed by the hoodlums outside.

Originally, because Wu Lingling had some connection to Tang Guo, they had considered getting Wu Lingling to lure Tang Guo out to play with them.

But after seeing her parents, they abandoned that idea.

Aside from the fact that every time Wu Lingling saw Tang Guo, she would glare at her with hatred and resentment, Tang Guo's life and studies remained peaceful.

At least, she thought so.

The students at school didn't.

Especially her classmates, who had discovered that their model student had improved even further.

In recent tests, she had practically achieved full marks in every science subject, leaving everyone hopelessly behind.

No one even felt jealous anymore. There was only admiration and envy.

Besides, they couldn't bring themselves to resent Tang Guo.

Not only did this top student continue to improve herself, she also patiently helped everyone else improve alongside her.

Wu Lingling, meanwhile, was heading further and further down a dark road, drifting farther from the light.

Tang Guo, on the other hand, walked in the opposite direction, growing brighter with each step. In the eyes of students and teachers, no matter where she stood, she seemed to shine with dazzling radiance.

She was flawless.

Every time Wu Lingling heard something about Tang Guo in the junior high department, her hatred deepened a little more.

One day after school, neither Father Tang nor Mother Tang came. The driver was there to pick her up.

As soon as she walked out of the school gate, she saw Wu Lingling with several delinquent girls and a group of hoodlums.

Seeing Tang Guo, Wu Lingling glared fiercely at her as usual and then turned away.

The other girls, meanwhile, stood beside the hoodlums. As Tang Guo got into the car, she saw them all walking off together.

Gradually, as they moved farther away from the school, the hoodlums' hands settled around the girls' waists.

None of the girls resisted.

Wu Lingling had introduced all the girls around her to that group of hoodlums.

“Mhm.”

“These junior high girls are rebellious to begin with, and some of them are already interested in dating. A few sweet words from those hoodlums, buying them snacks and taking them out to have fun, and they stop caring about everything else and start hanging around with them,” the system said.

“Keep an eye on Wu Lingling. If she starts targeting good students, let me know.” Resting her chin on one hand, Tang Guo added, “As for those little delinquents who willingly throw themselves away, leave them alone.”

Understood, Host.

Two days later, while chatting with Mother Tang, Tang Guo heard that Qin Ruolan had complained about Wu Lingling becoming even more rebellious recently. She rarely came home anymore and always claimed she was spending the night at classmates' houses.

Tang Guo lowered her head and smiled.

Qin Ruolan still only complained about how disobedient Wu Lingling was, yet she never worried whether her daughter really was staying with classmates.

“Your aunt is foolish too,” Mother Tang said. “If she divorced your uncle and raised Lingling alone, she'd definitely have a better life than she does now.”

“Mom, that's Auntie's own choice. No matter how much you try to persuade her, she won't listen.”

“I know.” Mother Tang sighed. “Forget it. As long as our Xiaoguo is safe and doing well, that's enough.”

Wu Lingling had already hurt her too deeply.

She no longer wanted to do things that required effort yet earned no gratitude in return.
