Chapter 1388: The Blackened Good Girl (23)

The next day, Tang Guo arrived at school as usual by car.

After getting out, she noticed that at this hour, Wu Lingling would normally be arriving from another direction on her bicycle with a few other delinquent girls.

Unless something unusual happened, they ran into each other almost every day.

It wasn't intentional. Both sides simply kept to the same schedule, so meeting was inevitable.

But today, Wu Lingling didn't appear.

Only the other girls showed up. As Tang Guo stepped out of the car, she saw them whispering among themselves, apparently discussing how Wu Lingling hadn't met up with them at the usual time.

“When I passed by Lingling's house, I shouted toward the second floor a couple of times, but it didn't seem like anyone was there.”

“Maybe she's sleeping like the dead.”

Nibbling on a piece of bread, Tang Guo followed them inside.

Soon, the entire morning had nearly passed. A couple of minutes after the third-period teacher had left the classroom, before anyone could react, a figure suddenly charged inside.

By the time they realized what was happening, that figure had already rushed in front of Tang Guo and was glaring at her with a twisted, venomous expression.

“You did it on purpose, didn't you?”

“Lingling?” Tang Guo looked up, confusion written across her face. “What do you mean? What did I do on purpose?”

Wu Lingling looked as though she wanted to devour Tang Guo alive. “You did it deliberately. You must have done it on purpose, right? Yesterday… yesterday you did it on purpose, didn't you?”

Her incoherent accusations left everyone baffled.

They thought back to yesterday. Tang Guo had been the last person to leave after finishing her homework. As far as they knew, she hadn't done anything to wrong Wu Lingling.

“Lingling, what are you talking about?” Tang Guo smiled faintly. “If it's nothing urgent, I still have homework to do. This is a classroom, not a place for shouting and making a scene. Whatever it is, we can talk after school.”

“No!”

Wu Lingling roared and slammed her fist heavily onto Tang Guo's desk. Her fierce demeanor immediately made everyone in the class dislike her.

“Classmate, you're disrupting our studies. This isn't the place for you to come in and make a scene. Please leave.”

“Classmate, please go outside.”

Everyone recognized Wu Lingling.

She was that delinquent girl who skipped class all the time and was constantly punished by being made to stand outside.

She had already received countless public criticisms and still refused to change.

This was the elite class for first-year high school students. They particularly despised middle school students who skipped classes every day and barged into their classroom shouting with no manners whatsoever.

“Tang Guo, just how much do you hate me? Why didn't you answer your phone yesterday? Why was your phone turned off? Why?! Why?!” Wu Lingling cried out in complete breakdown.

The entire class began whispering among themselves.

None of them believed Tang Guo would bully Wu Lingling. More likely, Wu Lingling had gotten herself into trouble and was trying to pin the blame on Tang Guo.

People like that were so annoying.

Whether to answer a call or not was the owner's choice, wasn't it?

Besides, maybe Tang Guo had simply been busy studying and hadn't noticed.

“Wu Lingling, right?” Tang Guo's deskmate spoke up. “Tang Guo accidentally lost her phone yesterday, and it's already been reported to lost and found. If you had something urgent and she didn't answer, that's hardly her fault.”

What he almost added was, You're just unlucky. She didn't answer her phone, and you come running into the classroom yelling like a madwoman. You really have no manners.

Wu Lingling froze.

“Your phone… was lost?”
