Chapter 1351: The Mermaid Princess (50)
After boarding the helicopter, it didn't take long before Tang Guo sensed that they were heading in the wrong direction. Merfolk were not only highly sensitive to water, but also to temperature.
As the heat grew increasingly intense, how could she fail to realize that the helicopter was not heading where it should?
Host, I scanned ahead. We seem to be heading toward the desert. Host, is Qiao Chen trying to deal with you?
“Perhaps he wants to imprison me, or maybe he has some other method in mind.” Tang Guo was completely unconcerned. To be honest, she had been waiting for this day for quite some time.
A desert—how wonderful.
Hadn't A'Guoguo been slowly tortured to death by thirst?
Then let Qiao Chen experience what it felt like to die of thirst as well. She had never intended to spare his life.
After an unknown amount of time, the helicopter descended, and she was dropped into the middle of the desert. To her surprise, there were already tents set up, stocked with all kinds of supplies. If she hadn't known that Qiao Chen harbored ill intentions, she might not have suspected anything and would have assumed there had simply been some change in the wedding arrangements.
Everything had been prepared inside the tents.
Everything except water.
“Where's Fuya?” Tang Guo asked one of the staff members.
The staff were adjusting cameras, looking exactly like people preparing for a wedding. There were photographers, makeup artists, costume designers—everything appeared perfectly normal.
“Miss A'Guoguo, Miss Fuya ran into a bit of trouble. She should be able to come the day after tomorrow.”
Resting her chin in her hand, Tang Guo asked, “Will there still be enough time?”
“Of course. President Qiao put a lot of effort into preparing this wedding. He wanted to surprise Miss Fuya, so he didn't tell you in advance. We hope you won't mind.”
Tang Guo raised an eyebrow slightly.
As expected of someone who had lived through one life already. He wouldn't reveal any flaws until the very end. Everything had been arranged so perfectly that no one would suspect a thing.
From what she could tell, these staff members probably knew nothing about Qiao Chen's scheme. They genuinely believed he was preparing a surprise for Fuya.
Most likely, only Qiao Chen knew the truth. Everyone else was merely a pawn in his hands.
Compared to his previous life, Qiao Chen had become even more calculating and sinister.
“Oh, could you pour me a glass of water? We've been flying for hours, and I'm a little thirsty.”
“Certainly, Miss A'Guoguo. Please wait a moment.”
The staff member found nothing strange about the request and naturally went to fetch some water. Tang Guo guessed that it wouldn't take long before he realized that among all the supplies they had brought, water was the only thing missing.
Sure enough, just two minutes later, the same staff member returned with a troubled expression.
“Miss A'Guoguo, I'm terribly sorry. We brought so many things that we somehow left out the water.”
But he wasn't worried in the slightest.
The nearest city was only a few hours away. More people would still be arriving. One phone call, and they could simply have someone bring water with them.
Under normal circumstances, that would indeed solve the problem.
“We've already contacted them. When they come, they'll definitely bring plenty of water.”
Tang Guo nodded. “Then I'll trouble you all.”
A day passed.
Tang Guo asked about the water again.
The staff member's lips had already begun to dry out as he replied, “Miss A'Guoguo, it seems something unexpected has happened with the weather over there. They can't come for the time being.”
“Oh…”
