Chapter 1321: The Mermaid Princess (20)

Although she was a bit narcissistic, arrogant, and especially greedy when it came to food, everything she said was the truth. There was nothing wrong with that. As a member of the sea clan blessed with noble blood, she should naturally be like this.

By the time Qiao Chen arrived at Tang Guo's classroom, she was already gone.

"Senior Qiao Chen, are you looking for A Guoguo?" one of the students who knew him asked enthusiastically.

Qiao Chen paused for a moment before nodding. "Has she left already?"

"A Guoguo got out early. Her grades are excellent, and after answering the teacher's questions, the teacher very readily let her leave."

"She left early?"

"Yeah. She said staying in the classroom was really boring and wanted to go home." Even the student answering found it somewhat absurd, but remembering how none of the teacher's questions had managed to stump her, they felt such special treatment was only natural. After all, their own brains weren't as good as hers. They would be lucky if they could answer half the questions the teacher asked.

Qiao Chen felt somewhat disappointed and asked again, "Do any of you know where she lives?"

"No idea. A Guoguo only transferred here today, so we haven't gotten familiar with her yet. Besides, even if we were, we couldn't just ask someone where they live."

Carrying his schoolbag, Qiao Chen left in disappointment.

When Fuya appeared beside him, she saw the sorrow written across his face and asked with concern, "Qiao Chen, what's wrong? Did something unpleasant happen?"

"Nothing." His attitude was extremely cold, and he unconsciously quickened his pace.

"Qiao Chen, I prepared a gift for you." A faint blush spread across Fuya's cheeks as she held out a beautifully wrapped box. "This is my heartfelt gift. I hope you'll accept it."

Qiao Chen didn't even spare it a glance. He felt absolutely nothing for Fuya.

If not for her, how could he have once failed to believe his little mermaid and even caused her death?

It had all been because of Fuya's instigation and lies that he had missed the real little mermaid.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, he suddenly looked back at the box in Fuya's hands. "What's inside?"

"Paper cranes." Fuya's face reddened as she answered. "I heard that folding a thousand paper cranes with sincerity can bring a response from the person you love. Qiao Chen, I like you. I hope you'll see my sincerity."

"You like me?" Qiao Chen laughed and stepped closer, lowering his head slightly. "What exactly do you like about me? What kind of response are you hoping to get from me? That I should be with you?"

"If I like you, then I like you. Why does there need to be so many reasons?" Fuya replied, not thinking there was anything wrong with her thoughts. "Since I like you, of course I want your response. I want you to be with me."

She had traveled all this way to the human world, adapting herself to its environment, all for the sake of pursuing the beautiful love she longed for and spending those fleeting hundred years with the person she loved.

"Fuya, since you say you like me, what are you willing to do for me?"

Fuya frowned slightly. "What do you want me to do?"

"As it happens, there is something I want your help with." Qiao Chen smiled brightly and lowered his voice. "I want to know A Guoguo's address. You should know, shouldn't you, Fuya?"

The joy that had been on Fuya's face instantly vanished. The color drained from her cheeks, and her fingers tightened around the box so hard that they turned white.

"Qiao Chen, A Guoguo told me herself that she doesn't like you."

"But I want to know A Guoguo's address, Fuya." Qiao Chen looked at her and smiled. "Didn't you say you liked me?"
