Chapter 1302: The Mermaid Princess (1)
Leaning against the rock, Tang Guo lazily swished her newly acquired tail back and forth, sending ripples splashing across the sea as she muttered to herself, “A mermaid… this time I’m actually a mermaid.”
“This
golden tail is rather beautiful.”
Looking
down at the shimmering golden tail beneath the water, she could also make out
her reflection on the sea’s surface. Long, golden curls framed a face as
delicate as a doll’s. Though her features remained those of an Eastern beauty,
her hair color was completely different.
“A
combination of Eastern and Western mermaids?”
System:
He really didn’t know what to say. After all, the host had never transmigrated
into a mermaid before. She was probably just enjoying the novelty.
Once
the host finished playing around, they could look at the plot.
Half
an hour later, after Tang Guo had finally had her fun, she accepted the
memories of this world.
It
was a rather clichรฉ story. A golden-tailed mermaid rescued a young man washed
ashore by the sea, only for him to mistake another mermaid for his savior. In
the end, the golden mermaid died, leaving behind nothing but sorrow.
Her
identity in this world was the third princess of the merfolk kingdom, the
daughter of the Sea King. Her name was A Guoguo—a strangely familiar name.
Above
her were an elder brother, Archie, who also possessed a golden tail, and an
elder sister named Fuya. Fuya did not have a golden tail, only a blue one.
Fuya
and she did not share the same mother. She was the daughter of one of the Sea
King’s lovers. The merfolk race was small in number, and among them, golden
tails were the most precious, silver tails ranked second, and blue tails came
third. Other colors were far less rare, and their divine power was especially
weak.
Thus,
despite only possessing a blue tail, Fuya’s birth had still brought great joy
to the entire merfolk race. No one looked down on her.
One
day, a group of wealthy young masters went out to sea on a speedboat for fun.
Unexpectedly, a violent storm struck. Towering waves overturned the boat,
scattering everyone into the sea.
Most
of them were rescued before long, but one boy named Qiao Chen was struck by a
massive wave and swept far away.
The
place where Tang Guo currently sat was exactly where Qiao Chen would drift
ashore in a few days.
After
being washed onto the rock that A Guoguo often visited, Qiao Chen was
eventually saved by her. Knowing he was a human, A Guoguo brought him to an
area frequented by humans, then hid beneath the sea and watched happily as
people found and took him away before swimming off.
In
his dazed state, Qiao Chen had vaguely sensed someone saving him. He had
briefly opened his eyes and caught a glimpse of a beautiful mermaid diving back
into the sea—a mermaid with blue hair and a golden tail.
A
Guoguo herself had golden hair and a golden tail. The reason he had seen blue
hair was because she had been feeling playful that day. Using dye found beneath
the sea, she had colored both her hair and tail blue.
After
recovering, Qiao Chen became obsessed with finding the blue-haired mermaid who
had saved him.
Fuya
knew about A Guoguo rescuing a human because A Guoguo always loved sharing
stories about the shore with her.
One
day, Fuya noticed a handsome young man searching along the coastline. Hidden
beneath the sea, she repeatedly heard his voice calling out with deep
affection.
“My
little mermaid, where are you?”
Every
word was filled with longing.
What
a devoted young man.
At
that moment, Fuya fell in love with him.
She
appeared before him and asked who he was looking for. The moment he saw her,
Qiao Chen grabbed her hand and exclaimed excitedly, “My little mermaid, I
finally found you. Come home with me.”
And
just like that, Fuya and Qiao Chen fell in love. He brought her back with him
to the school he attended.
