Chapter 1276: The Fool’s Daughter (55)
Tang Guo opened the box and was surprised to find a pink diamond the size of her thumb inside. The box itself was beautiful, but the pink diamond resting within was even more exquisite.
“Do you like it?” Yuan Shuo asked.
“I do.” Tang Guo nodded. “Auntie is too kind.”
“I'm glad you like it. My father had a friend bring back a batch of gems this time, and this pink diamond was my mother's favorite. After hearing me talk about you, she took a liking to you and insisted on giving you the largest one.”
“Just accept it. My mother has plenty of jewelry. Even if she runs out, my father will search all over the world to find more for her.”
The system was dumbfounded.
Was he really their biological son?
“Then I won't stand on ceremony.”
Tang Guo picked up her handbag and rummaged through it. In reality, she was asking the system to choose a beautiful gemstone from her storage space.
A moment later, a ruby the size of a pigeon egg appeared in her bag, already packed inside a delicate box.
She raised her head to hand the box to Yuan Shuo, only to be completely stunned by the sight around her.
“System, what's going on?”
Why had all the customers in the milk tea shop disappeared?
In the blink of an eye, the entire place had transformed into a flower shop. Flowers surrounded them everywhere, with red roses making up the vast majority. Except for the area where they were sitting, a path leading to the exit had been covered with blossoms. Even the floor was strewn with crimson petals.
Earlier, she had been concentrating on choosing a gemstone and vaguely noticed people coming and going around them, but she hadn't realized they were arranging all of this.
What else could it be? Host, your adorable man just confessed. Of course he wouldn't settle for a simple confession. Once he realized you had feelings for him too, he naturally wanted to strike while the iron was hot and create something romantic—a beautiful memory for you.
Tang Guo knew that perfectly well.
Her question had simply come out instinctively.
Her gaze settled on Yuan Shuo's face, where excitement and nervousness mingled together.
“Brother Shuo, is all this for me?”
“Yes.” He looked at her expectantly. “Do you like it?”
He had wanted to do this for a long time, but he had never been certain of her feelings. If she hadn't liked him yet, making such a grand public gesture might only have annoyed her.
But now he knew.
She liked him too.
And he wasn't about to let this opportunity slip away.
Such a moment was hard to come by.
Months ago, he had already wanted to marry her and bring her home. Especially after learning about her family, he had wanted nothing more than to take her away and give her a lifetime of happiness.
In his heart, no one could compare to her.
He would never be like her parents, always favoring outsiders over their own family.
In his world, she alone was the most important.
“Of course I like it.”
Yuan Shuo still held a single rose in his hand. Hearing her answer, he stood up and walked around the table. Bending slightly, he presented the flower to her.
“This is the prettiest one,” he said softly. “It's for you, Xiaoguo.”
Tang Guo accepted the rose.
Yuan Shuo immediately added, “Then from today onward, you're my girlfriend, right?”
“Brother Shuo, you're really good at striking while the iron is hot.”
Smiling, Tang Guo lifted the rose and the pink diamond in her hand.
“I've already accepted your gifts. What do you think?”
The moment he heard those words, Yuan Shuo's face lit up with joy.
He extended his hand toward her.
“Then, may I have this dance?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, staff members entered and moved the sea of flowers to the edges of the shop.
Soft, beautiful music filled the air.
And outside the milk tea shop, the people clapping enthusiastically turned out to be the customers who had mysteriously disappeared earlier.
