Chapter 1266: The Fool’s Daughter (45)
Even the system had to admit that its host had thought of everything. Perhaps she had simply been irritated too much lately by those outrageous relatives.
Yuan Shuo, however, was in exceptionally high spirits. After studying the route, he discovered that driving from his home to this place was even more convenient than before.
His only regret was that the apartment was very close to their workplace, which meant they would have less time together.
“Brother Shuo, thanks for helping me move. Let me treat you to dinner.”
Now that he knew Tang Guo wasn't truly down on her luck, Yuan Shuo didn't bother being polite. Eating a meal paid for by his future wife shouldn't be a problem, right?
Once they were together, everything he owned would be hers anyway, so there was no need to stand on ceremony.
The two of them went to the private restaurant again, and this time the meal was especially satisfying.
The next morning, Yuan Shuo drove to the outside of the apartment building and just happened to “run into” Tang Guo.
The moment she stepped out, she spotted his car parked nearby. Their eyes met, and both of them smiled.
“Brother Shuo, what a coincidence?”
“Indeed.” Yuan Shuo smiled. “Doesn't this route also pass by the company? I only realized yesterday when I helped you move that this way is closer than my old route. There aren't as many traffic jams either. Since that's the case, I might as well take this road from now on.”
“Come on, get in. It's on the way.”
The system was speechless.
Right, on the way.
It had been “on the way” for months already. Continuing to be “on the way” was hardly a problem.
Adults really lived in a strange world.
“Brother Shuo, have you had breakfast?”
“I left a little late and didn't want to get stuck in traffic, so no. I'll just grab something at the office later.”
In truth, he had been worried about missing her.
“What a coincidence. I had a sudden inspiration this morning and accidentally made an extra breakfast. I was going to bring it to the office and share it with a colleague, but since you haven't eaten, you can have it instead.”
Tang Guo carefully set the insulated lunch box beside him and said earnestly, “It's still warm. You can eat it when you get to the office.”
The system rolled its eyes.
As if.
She had clearly cooked enough for two people, eaten one portion herself, and packed the other into the container. What a fake woman.
Wasn't it specially prepared for Yuan Shuo?
Bleh, bleh, bleh.
Yuan Shuo, hurry up and take this woman home already.
Yuan Shuo's lips curved upward, his smile impossible to suppress. Though he wasn't particularly familiar with Tang Guo's company, he did know her boss.
He had casually brought her up before and knew that she wasn't especially close with her colleagues. She certainly wasn't the type to cook extra food and bring it to work to share.
Besides, Tang Guo was someone who calculated everything with precision. She wasn't the sort to accidentally make too much food.
Especially breakfast.
Anyone who knew how to cook could estimate portions accurately. Even if there were leftovers, it would never happen to be exactly enough for one more person.
Therefore, through careful analysis, there was only one conclusion—
She had made this breakfast specifically for him.
And she had even known he would come.
The thought made Yuan Shuo almost unable to contain his excitement.
So their relationship had taken another step forward.
At the very least, she definitely had feelings for him.
After dropping Tang Guo off at work, Yuan Shuo eagerly drove into the parking garage and carefully carried the insulated lunch box into his office as though it contained some priceless treasure.
The company's employees wore expressions of utter bewilderment.
What exactly had their president brought with him that he was protecting it so carefully?
“Secretary Chen, hurry up and take those documents in,” one of them urged. “See what President Yuan is eating. We're all dying of curiosity.”
Truth be told, Secretary Chen was just as curious as everyone else.
