Chapter 1265: The Fool’s Daughter (44)

“Once I save enough for a down payment and buy a place of my own, it'll be even more comfortable.”

Tang Guo's words made Song Jinghua feel stifled. Wasn't her daughter indirectly criticizing her? But with Tang Guo already moving out, she couldn't very well say much. Lowering her voice when Yuan Shuo had carried the luggage downstairs, she asked quietly, “That young man really sells insurance?”

“Of course. Insurance salesmen these days are all pretty handsome. Makes business easier, doesn't it?”

“Well, as long as he isn't your boyfriend, I don't care who he is.” Song Jinghua relaxed considerably. “Xiaoguo, when you look for a husband, never choose someone who sells insurance. People like that are smooth talkers, they have no future, and everyone dislikes them.”

“Don't worry, Mom. I won't choose a man who only sells insurance.”

After all, the one she had her eye on wasn't some ordinary insurance salesman, but the boss of those who sold insurance. Naturally, he wasn't the kind who personally went door-to-door peddling policies.

Song Jinghua was completely reassured. In her opinion, letting Tang Guo experience society for herself was a good thing. Before long, she'd discover how warm and comfortable home really was and come running back.

Tang Lide still hadn't gotten over his anger and naturally made no effort to stop her. He shared the same thoughts as Song Jinghua. Once Tang Guo suffered a little outside, she'd understand just how good life at home was.

Neither of them knew that their daughter was far more capable than they imagined.

Nor did they realize that the one destined to suffer in the future wouldn't be her, but themselves.

“Xiaoguo, have you found a place yet?” Yuan Shuo asked. “If not, I have several properties under my name. Two of them are close to your company. They're cleaned regularly, nicely decorated, and I haven't rented them out. You can stay there for now.”

“A place?” Tang Guo laughed softly. “Brother Shuo, you don't need to worry about that. I made preparations before deciding to move out. There's no point continuing to live at home.”

She gave him an address, causing Yuan Shuo to blink in surprise.

If he remembered correctly, that address belonged to one of the city's luxury apartment complexes.

Sure enough, when they arrived and he watched Tang Guo walk toward the building, he knew his guess had been right.

“The rent here can't be cheap, can it?”

What he really meant was—could she afford it?

“It certainly isn't cheap per month. Renting would be far too wasteful.”

The implication was obvious.

She bought it?

“You bought it?”

“Mhm.” Tang Guo's lips curved into a smile. “Living in your own place is always more comfortable.”

Of course.

Yuan Shuo silently agreed.

“I underestimated you.”

The more he looked at this girl, the more he liked her. Clever, never willing to suffer losses, and capable of making money—he truly adored women like that.

In fact, she was so good at making money that perhaps he'd simply hand all his finances over to her in the future. Whether she multiplied it or spent it, he'd be delighted.

A luxury apartment like this had to cost several million yuan outright.

Even with the money Tang Guo had invested in the stock market, several months wouldn't have been enough to accumulate that much. But paying the down payment should have been no problem.

The reason she had chosen this place was simple—the security was excellent.

The guards were incredibly responsible. No outsiders could enter the complex at all. Unless a resident personally came down to escort them or called ahead, no one would be allowed inside.

That meant that even if her address was exposed in the future, those troublesome relatives wouldn't be able to barge in.

Before buying the apartment, she had asked the system to investigate every connection in the entire building. After confirming that none of the residents had any relationship with her troublesome relatives, she had purchased it without hesitation.

There would be no pulling strings to get inside.

And even if someone somehow tracked her down, she could simply call the police.

After all, most ordinary acquaintances wouldn't be willing to help such troublesome pests.
