Chapter 1257: The Fool's Daughter (36)
"Yes, it is a good thing," Yuan Shuo replied.
He
finally understood why, over the past two months, he had constantly wanted to
get closer to her.
He
wanted to see her every day. Because of her work schedule, he had moved all his
afternoon meetings to the morning.
He
had once enjoyed eating breakfast at home, but now he got up earlier and
brought breakfast to the office instead.
He
had changed all those long-established habits for one simple reason—to see her
twice every day.
Once
in the morning.
And
once in the afternoon.
At
first, he hadn't paid much attention to it. He had simply acted on instinct and
never thought too deeply about it. Perhaps he had only believed that she was an
interesting person.
Being
around her was indeed relaxing and carefree.
From
her words, he often experienced a sense of pleasant surprise.
She
occasionally said things that gave him entirely new perspectives.
Even
though she lived in such a family, she seemed not to care about any of it.
Among
the Tang family members he had met, not a single one was a good person.
Including
her.
Yet
for some reason, the more he looked at her, the more pleasing she became to his
eyes.
He
had wondered before why he always wanted to be near her.
Now,
in this instant, he understood.
He
wanted to bring her home.
Earlier,
he had been thinking that it was impossible to give her half of his parents,
and had found it strange that he was willing to share them with her in the
first place.
Unless
one cared deeply for someone—
Unless
one liked someone—
Who
would ever have such thoughts?
And
that was exactly how he felt toward her.
As
long as they got married, wouldn't his parents become hers as well?
"Miss
Tang, we've known each other for two months now, haven't we?" Yuan Shuo
asked.
Tang
Guo nodded gently. "Yes. President Yuan, are you saying that since we're
friends now, you're planning to lend me money to buy insurance?"
"Of
course I can lend you money," Yuan Shuo replied. "As for insurance, I
can take care of everything for you. Whatever kind of insurance you want, I'll
buy a policy for you. Since we're friends, I'll give you a discount."
Ten
percent of the price.
Yuan
Shuo silently thought to himself that once he coaxed her to his side in the
future, he'd renew her policies for free every year.
Would
his own wife need to pay?
Everything
he earned in the future would belong to her anyway.
"Miss
Tang, since we're already friends, calling each other 'President Yuan' and
'Miss Tang' feels rather distant. How about we change the way we address each
other?"
System:
Oho, so the guy's finally enlightened. No wonder he's willing to lend money
now. Turns out he's got designs on my Host.
"Of
course."
"Then
from now on, I'll call you Xiaoguo?"
The
moment Yuan Shuo uttered the name, warmth spread through his heart.
It
felt as though he should have called her that all along.
Every
time he addressed her as "Miss Tang," it had always felt too formal.
"Xiaoguo,
you can call me by my name, or you can call me Brother Yuan like you did that
day."
System:
Pfft, this guy!
"President
Yuan, you've never played games, have you?"
Yuan
Shuo found it strange that she suddenly brought up gaming, but since she asked,
he naturally answered.
"I've
never had the time."
Although
he somehow managed to make time every day to meet her and have meals together,
his remaining free time was either spent working or sleeping.
Ever
since meeting her, he had squeezed out every bit of spare time just to see her
and spend time with her.
"I'll
call you Brother Shuo from now on, then." Tang Guo graciously fulfilled
Yuan Shuo's desire to be somebody's big brother. "Calling you Brother Yuan
sounds too much like the name of some game character. It would completely break
my immersion."
