Chapter 1250: The Fool's Daughter (29)

At dinner, Tang Lide stared at the table full of vegetables in surprise. "Why isn't there any meat today? It's all vegetarian dishes."

"Eating vegetarian once in a while is good for you," Song Jinghua said guiltily. "We've had too much fish and meat lately. My stomach's been feeling uncomfortable. Anyway, there are only a few days left this month. I've decided that our family will eat vegetarian for the rest of the month. Think of it as maintaining our health."

"But I still want meat." Tang Lide glanced at the dishes on the table in disdain. "Jinghua, without meat, this meal is impossible to eat."

Song Jinghua slapped his round belly and said, "With that belly of yours, you should eat more vegetables. I've decided—our family will stay vegetarian next month too."

Tang Lide: "..."

Wasn't that asking for his life?

System: Host, your mother is really something. She helps her own family, then makes your family eat vegetables to save money.

"Isn't she remarkable?" Tang Guo said. "I can't get used to eating vegetarian every day. From now on, let's just eat outside and come home afterward. Help me check if there are any good private kitchens near my company."

The System glanced at Tang Lide and Song Jinghua, who were forcing themselves to eat vegetables, and nearly spat out when it heard Tang Guo talking about eating at private restaurants.

Indeed.

Very Host-like.

She was really capable of such things.

But when dealing with people like these, one had to be ruthless.

The next morning, Tang Guo received a list of recommended private restaurants from the System. After looking it over, she decided to try each one after work.

The ones short of money were Tang Lide and Song Jinghua.

Not her.

Hadn't they always said she was already an adult and needed to learn how to take care of herself?

Then she'd naturally take good care of herself.

After work, she didn't head directly to the private restaurant she'd booked. Instead, she walked to the place where Yuan Shuo usually appeared.

As always, the two "coincidentally" ran into each other and exchanged greetings.

System: The adult world is so boring. What nonsense about chance encounters? These two are obviously pretending to be oblivious while both know exactly what's going on.

"President Yuan, let me treat you to dinner," Tang Guo said, leaning against the car door. "You've been giving me rides all this time, and I feel a little embarrassed. I'd like to thank you properly."

System: This dog Host has been riding in his car for almost two months, and this is the first time I've heard her say she's embarrassed. Has the sun risen in the west?

Yuan Shuo was surprised, but he didn't refuse.

As long as nothing important came up, he'd already gotten used to passing by here every day and waiting for her.

Even when meetings delayed him, he'd unconsciously send her a call or message saying he'd be heading home later than usual. Those occasions were rare, though. As long as he could come here, he would.

"With Miss Tang treating me so generously, how could I refuse? So what are we having? Going to a noodle shop?"

He had spent some time learning about Tang Guo's family and knew that her parents cared more about those parasitic relatives than their own daughter.

It was the first time in his life he'd seen parents who treasured relatives while neglecting their own child.

Instinctively, he thought a small noodle shop would be best.

Actually, the noodle shops weren't bad. Back when he was a student, he often ate at one outside his school.

"I've already made a reservation."

When Tang Guo led Yuan Shuo to a highly reputed private restaurant, he froze for a moment and asked quietly, "How did you manage to get a reservation here?"
