Chapter 12: Diablo 9
“Take the phone. The payment password is six sixes. Buy five portions, got it?” Tang Wan said.
Tang Yitong looked at the phone she handed over, somewhat surprised.
She had never given him money before.
Right now, he only had a little over one hundred yuan on him, and that was all meant for his daily bus fare to and from school. If he hadn’t spent his money on stationery today, he wouldn’t have taken Tang Wan’s car home in the first place.
If he bought the dumplings himself, he really wouldn’t have any money left.
But he hadn’t expected Tang Wan to actually give him money.
Tang Yitong didn’t stand on ceremony and directly took the phone. Just as he slipped it into his pocket, he heard Tang Wan continue:
“Use my taxi app to get a cab. Hurry there and back. I’m starving to death!”
“I understand,” Tang Yitong replied with a nod before leaving the ward a little faster than before.
...
After Tang Yitong left, Little Cutie popped out again.
“Host, he’s your future husband! Is that really how you should talk to him?”
Hearing this, Tang Wan leaned lazily against the hospital bed and replied:
“What do you know? Precisely because of that, I need to train him properly from now on.”
She wasn’t stupid.
Part of Tang Yitong’s personality had already formed, and it was nearly impossible to completely reverse it. So what she could do was prevent him from becoming the antisocial monster described in the original plot.
As long as he didn’t destroy the world, wouldn’t her mission be considered complete?
So now, all she needed to do was shape Tang Yitong into the type she liked while making sure he wouldn’t become a world-destroying villain.
That way, her future life would be much easier.
Little Cutie immediately nodded in realization after hearing Tang Wan’s explanation.
“So that’s how it is! Host, you really think ahead!”
As expected of the woman chosen by the Daddy System—she really was capable!
About half an hour later, Tang Yitong returned carrying five portions of dumplings.
“Eat while they’re still hot,” Tang Yitong said as he opened one of the lunch boxes. His tone was no longer as cold as before.
...
Hearing this, Tang Wan nodded before picking up her chopsticks.
After taking a bite, she suddenly looked at Tang Yitong and said:
“You should eat too! Sit here and eat with me... I haven’t had a proper meal in a long time. Every time I see that old woman at home, I lose my appetite.”
Tang Yitong’s eyes shifted slightly as he stared at Tang Wan.
Seeing that he still wasn’t moving, Tang Wan immediately urged:
“Hurry up! If no one eats with me, I won’t have any appetite!”
After saying that, she proactively opened another lunch box and handed the chopsticks to Tang Yitong.
Tang Yitong lowered his head and reached out with his skinny right hand to take the chopsticks before silently beginning to eat.
“Eat more! Don’t waste food!” Tang Wan reminded him.
Tang Yitong gave a quiet hum and stuffed the dumplings into his mouth one after another.
Ever since entering the Tang family six years ago, aside from the very beginning, he had never truly eaten his fill after Zhao Xia gave birth to her second child.
Seeing Tang Yitong eating seriously, Tang Wan immediately said:
“Sure enough, food tastes better when someone eats with you. I’ve decided, Tang Yitong—how about eating with me every day from now on?”
After saying that, she looked at him expectantly.
Tang Yitong raised his eyes and looked at her silently.
Seeing this, Tang Wan immediately looked at him pitifully.
“Don’t you think we’ve already reconciled now? As your older sister, asking you to eat meals with me every day isn’t too much, right? So agree already, good Tongtong!”
Looking at the expectation in her eyes, Tang Yitong almost nodded instinctively.
But inwardly, he thought:
I’m not your younger brother.
