Chapter 1154: The Princess Consort Whose Memories Were Altered (29)

Tang Jiao had never had an elder sister of her own. Suddenly being doted on by someone like Tang Guo naturally made her happy.

“Didn't you say you loved freedom? I already promised before that I'd let you live freely and go wherever you pleased,” Tang Guo continued. “As for those two men, we sisters must join forces and take our revenge during this time.”

“Alright, I'll listen to you, Sister. You've always been confident and sure of yourself.”

While the sisters were discussing how to torment the two brothers, Shangguan Yi and Shangguan Jing were conversing about other matters in the study.

“Prince Jing, it seems you've truly married the right Princess Consort. Just look at Prince Jing's Manor—everything is in perfect order. Princess Jing is truly capable. As expected of Consort Jiao's elder sister,” Shangguan Yi remarked while secretly observing Shangguan Jing's expression.

Shangguan Jing couldn't help recalling everything Tang Guo had accomplished over the past six months, as well as the fact that she herself was both talented and virtuous.

When Shangguan Yi mentioned Tang Jiao, he unconsciously replied, “Princess Consort is naturally an excellent woman. I truly must thank Imperial Brother for this favor. It was only later that I learned how many noble families wished to have Princess Consort as their daughter-in-law.”

“Your younger brother really has obtained a treasure.”

“Not only is Princess Consort skilled in household management, but she also manages businesses well. She's proficient in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. To speak truthfully, she is an exceptionally talented woman.”

“Oh?” Shangguan Yi looked surprised. “I've only heard that the eldest daughter of the Minister's household was trained from childhood in managing estates and was highly regarded among noblewomen. I never knew she was also accomplished in the arts.”

Seeing the surprise on Shangguan Yi's face, Shangguan Jing felt inexplicably pleased and couldn't help boasting further.

“Not only does Princess Consort write beautifully, but her paintings are also exquisite. She is even highly skilled in cooking. To be honest, whenever this younger brother is in the residence, both lunch and dinner are prepared personally by Princess Consort.”

Seeing Shangguan Jing's proud expression, Shangguan Yi was genuinely astonished.

Could the eldest daughter of the Minister's household really be so outstanding?

“Imperial Brother seems unconvinced?”

“There is indeed some doubt in my mind. After all, seeing is believing.”

Shangguan Jing chuckled inwardly and immediately turned to the attendant at his side.

“Go and ask Princess Consort for several of her usual calligraphy and paintings. Also, for tonight's dinner, ask Princess Consort to prepare two dishes personally.”

After thinking for a moment, he added, “No need to prepare too much, lest Princess Consort become tired.”

That last sentence was entirely for Shangguan Yi's benefit, to show just how much he cherished his Princess Consort.

Not long afterward, the servant returned with several examples of Tang Guo's calligraphy and paintings and presented them before the Emperor.

Before seeing them, Shangguan Yi had been doubtful.

But once he examined them, he could only marvel in admiration.

He naturally didn't suspect Shangguan Jing of presenting counterfeits. Looking at the man's proud expression, how could it possibly be fake?

No wonder…

No wonder his imperial brother had forgotten Consort Jiao after gaining such a Princess Consort.

It wasn't because he'd forgotten Consort Jiao.

It was because this Princess Consort was simply too extraordinary.

Seeing Shangguan Yi's astonishment made Shangguan Jing incredibly pleased.

He rolled up his sleeve and held out his arm for Shangguan Yi to see.

“Imperial Brother, look. Do you know what this is?”

Then he lifted his foot and pointed to another mark.

“And look here. There's one here too.”

“And Imperial Brother, look at my sachet.”

He held it up and waved it before Shangguan Yi's eyes. Compared with the first two, the design on the sachet was even clearer.

Only then did Shangguan Yi recognize it.

It was a totem composed of the character “Jing” ().
