Chapter 1122: The Flash Marriage Heiress(106)

The moment Qian Beibei heard that, she nearly choked with resentment.

“Beibei, you don’t mind, do you? I love you. The villa belonged to Xiaoguo in the first place, so compensating her is only right.”

Taking a deep breath, Qian Beibei asked, “Yicheng, then exactly how much do we have in assets?”

“Mom’s managing everything. Don’t worry, she won’t spend recklessly. The old lady has plenty of money of her own anyway.” The old woman had a keen eye. Whenever she bought stocks, she always seemed to pick the winners.

Qian Beibei suddenly remembered hearing people at the company discussing how most of the company’s shares were in Tang Guo’s hands.

Luo Yicheng had worked so hard to earn all that money, only for most of it to end up in Tang Guo’s pocket. She couldn't help feeling indignant. “Yicheng, have you ever thought about starting your own company independently?”

“Beibei, why are you bringing that up? This company is mine.”

“But you only own a few percent of the shares.”

“That’s already a lot. Aside from the Tang family, I’m the company’s largest shareholder.”

“But you work so hard, and in the end most of the profits go to other people. I feel it's unfair to you.”

“Beibei, as long as we have enough money to live on, that’s enough. If Xiaoguo hadn’t supported me back then, this company never would have reached where it is today.”

“Beibei, our relationship already hurt Xiaoguo. I’ll never leave this company in my lifetime. I promised her back then that I’d do my best to run it well. She never received my love, so the only thing I can do is make the company bigger and better.”

Determination flickered in Luo Yicheng’s eyes. “Beibei, you’ll support me, won’t you?”

“Of course.”

Qian Beibei lowered her eyes. What else could she say?

When Tang Guo and Gu Ye held their wedding, everyone who knew them attended, including Luo Yicheng and Qian Beibei, Mother Luo, and Eldest Sister Luo.

Ever since being mocked at a social gathering years ago, Qian Beibei had avoided such occasions.

But this time, standing beside Luo Yicheng, she suddenly felt utterly out of place. Even Mother Luo and Eldest Sister Luo radiated wealth and refinement, looking every bit like members of this upper-class circle.

As she looked around at the luxurious surroundings, she felt as though countless people were laughing at her. She wanted nothing more than to disappear into a crack in the ground.

No one came over to greet her. Those who approached all came to greet Luo Yicheng, Mother Luo, and Eldest Sister Luo.

The pig farm run by Eldest Sister Luo’s husband had become famous throughout the country. Its scale continued to expand, and it maintained close ties with the Tang family.

Qian Beibei suddenly realized that many people she knew had business dealings with the Tang family and with Tang Guo.

Tang Guo seemed to have invested in countless companies.

Looking again at Tang Guo in her wedding dress, she appeared astonishingly young. That man named Gu Ye had a terrible reputation, yet she had heard that he had transferred all of his assets into Tang Guo’s name.

Only then did Qian Beibei realize that after all these years of marriage to Luo Yicheng, Mother Luo had always given her spending money. She had her own salary as well, and every year Mother Luo arranged her dresses and jewelry for her.

But even now, she had no idea how much wealth their family actually possessed.

After marrying Gu Ye, Tang Guo traveled everywhere with him.

Her investments were always profitable, and now she only needed to lie back and count money.

Gu Ye’s subordinates had also been thoroughly trained, and there was almost nothing that required his personal involvement anymore. From then on, the two of them embarked upon a carefree and indulgent life together.

As for Qian Beibei, her troublesome days had only just begun.

Niu Jinlan came looking for money.

“Beibei, things are a little tight at home lately. Yicheng runs such a big company now, so you should be able to spare some money, right?”
