Chapter 1103: The Flash Marriage Heiress (87)

Mother Luo had finally accepted the fact that Luo Yicheng was divorced. Although Eldest Sister Luo still harbored dissatisfaction, there was nothing she could do about it. Tang Guo had originally planned to leave, but Mother Luo told her that she hoped she could stay a while longer. If she suddenly left, she would miss her terribly and find it hard to adjust.

Tang Guo agreed.

Over the following days, she continued accompanying Mother Luo to various gatherings. Seeing that Tang Guo remained as close to her as ever, Mother Luo felt somewhat comforted. Yet whenever she remembered that Tang Guo was no longer her daughter-in-law, her heart ached again.

Now, when introducing her to others, she no longer dared to proudly declare that this was her wonderful daughter-in-law.

“Xiao Guo, does your family know?” Mother Luo suddenly remembered that no one at the gatherings had been discussing Tang Guo and Luo Yicheng’s divorce.

“They all know,” Tang Guo replied.

“Then…”

“Auntie Luo, don’t worry. I’ve already explained everything to my family. A marriage without love has no meaning. I spent three years trying, yet I couldn’t make Yicheng feel even the slightest affection for me. That proves he truly doesn’t like me.”

“My parents aren’t unreasonable people. I explained the situation clearly, so they won’t do anything.”

Mother Luo felt both heartbroken and relieved.

“It’s our Luo family that has wronged you.”

“What’s the point of saying that?” Tang Guo smiled. “We can still treat each other like relatives in the future. Besides, I still have business dealings with Luo Village and Eldest Sister Luo. How could we become distant?”

A faint smile finally appeared on Mother Luo’s face as she patted Tang Guo’s hand. “That’s right. How can people suddenly become strangers?”

What Mother Luo didn’t know was that, at that very moment, Luo Yicheng was taking Qian Beibei around to buy a new home.

After spending several days searching, he purchased an apartment in an upscale residential area. It was fully furnished, and within two days, Qian Beibei resigned from her job and moved in.

Once the two settled into their own home, Luo Yicheng rarely returned to the villa.

Mother Luo assumed he had thrown himself entirely into work and simply didn’t want to come back and face awkwardness. After all, the company dormitories had rooms for him as well.

His excuse had always been that he was staying at the company.

Just like that, several more days passed.

Mother Luo received another invitation to a gathering. However, as soon as she arrived, she noticed that many familiar faces were looking at her strangely. Their gazes seemed filled with contempt and ridicule.

A bad feeling rose in her heart. Pulling aside someone she was close to, she asked, “Mrs. Li, what’s wrong with everyone? Did something happen?”

“You don’t know?” Mrs. Li looked at her in surprise. Seeing the genuine confusion on Mother Luo’s face, she suppressed the disdain in her own heart and lowered her voice. “Mrs. Luo, I really have to say this. For your Yicheng to meet Young Miss Tang was an incredible blessing.”

“We all know men like to fool around outside from time to time. Others are one thing, but what’s going on with your Yicheng?”

At this point, news of Tang Guo and Luo Yicheng’s divorce had not been made public. Both Tang Guo and Luo Yicheng had intentionally kept it quiet, and Mother Luo herself had no desire to spread such matters around.

The Tang family, having listened to Tang Guo’s wishes, had also refrained from taking action for the time being.

The ominous feeling in Mother Luo’s heart only grew stronger. “What happened to our Yicheng? He’s been busy with company matters recently. He eats and sleeps at the office. How could he possibly have time to fool around?”

“Oh, Mrs. Luo, I’m afraid he’s been keeping even you in the dark about this.”

Mother Luo took a deep breath and asked anxiously, “Mrs. Li, please tell me the truth. What exactly is going on?”
