Chapter 1096: The Flash Marriage Heiress (80)
“Luo Yicheng, get out there and stand outside!”
With
Mother Luo in full fury, Luo Yicheng had no choice but to climb to his feet and
obediently stand by the front door. As he closed it behind him, he saw Mother
Luo clinging tightly to Tang Guo and refusing to let go. A vague unease crept
into his heart. Things between him and Beibei probably wouldn't go smoothly
either.
Even
after divorcing Xiaoguo, he couldn't marry Beibei right away. Otherwise, his
mother would certainly hold a grudge against her.
Beibei
was already pregnant. She couldn't continue living in a rented apartment. Since
marriage was impossible for the time being, perhaps he should buy a house that
belonged to the two of them and let Beibei focus on raising the baby in peace.
Mother
Luo was still seething with anger. She held tightly onto Tang Guo, desperately
trying to think of some way to keep such a wonderful daughter-in-law.
Completely
unaware that her precious son was already planning how to provide for his woman
and child.
“Xiaoguo,
do you really have to divorce him?” Mother Luo's face was filled with pleading.
“Mom likes you the most. Can you not get divorced?”
Tang
Guo smiled and gently shook her head.
“Auntie
Luo, from the very beginning, I was the one who liked Yicheng. Marrying him was
an accident. I spent three years of my life on him and waited for him for three
years. This time, he's the one asking for a divorce, not me.”
“As
for me, I've already waited three years. Waiting a few more years wouldn't make
much difference. As long as Yicheng slowly came to accept me, what would a few
more years matter? Actually, a few days ago, I already sensed that he intended
to divorce me.”
“Don't
listen to him, Xiaoguo. His brain isn't working properly. He must've become
stupid from work.” Mother Luo refused to believe it. How could her foolish son
fail to cherish such a wonderful girl?
Once
he lost her, where would he ever find someone like her again?
“But…
I can't bear to let you go.”
Tang
Guo squeezed Mother Luo's hand and comforted her.
“Auntie,
feelings can't be forced. Yicheng himself said there's no point waiting any
longer. Even after three years, he still hasn't developed any feelings for me.
Auntie, you've seen it yourself. We're not even a real married couple. What's
the point in continuing like this?”
“Don't
you want a grandchild? Yicheng doesn't love me, so you wouldn't be getting one
anyway. Once we're divorced, he can go find the girl he truly loves. Then,
Auntie, you'll finally have the grandchild you've always wanted.”
Mother
Luo shook her head repeatedly.
“How
could a grandchild compare to you? What other girl could possibly be as good as
you? Even the children they'd have couldn't compare to the ones you'd give
birth to.”
Hearing
those words, Tang Guo lowered her head.
“I'm
very happy to hear you say that, Auntie. At least these years weren't spent in
vain, and I know I've been loved. But feelings are something that can't be
forced. Auntie, Luo Yicheng has never loved me. If I continue staying with him,
there won't be a good ending.”
Mother
Luo still refused to release her and continued trying to persuade her. During
that time, Elder Sister Luo and her family joined in as well.
None
of them could bear to lose such an important member of the family.
Elder
Sister Luo's two sons were especially angry with Luo Yicheng. They thought
their uncle simply didn't know how to appreciate what he had. What nonsense
about not having feelings? He had probably changed his heart and come up with
some excuse.
In
short, they strongly suspected that there was something wrong with Luo
Yicheng's character.
For
the moment, none of them had considered the possibility that another woman was
involved.
After
all, Tang Guo was so perfect.
What
woman could possibly compare to her?
“Auntie,
Sister Luo, what I say doesn't matter,” Tang Guo finally said. “Why don't you
ask Luo Yicheng whether he's willing to continue with me?”
