Chapter 1081: The Flash Marriage Heiress (65)

“This situation can at least serve as preliminary evidence.” Tang Guo’s calm voice instantly doused Gu Ye’s excitement. Wasn’t it still not enough?

Tang Guo continued, “Lawyer Gu, do you really think this can be used as proof of their affair? They only hugged and exchanged a few words. Nothing actually happened. It’s useless. It won’t hold up.”

That was true.

Gu Ye sank into frustration. These two people, who clearly loved each other so deeply, were honestly the most restrained pair he had ever seen.

They loved each other so much, yet they had managed to endure for an entire year.

If it were him, he wouldn’t even last a day.

The system thought, You seem to have forgotten those three years you endured yourself. It’s over, it’s over. Host’s constant teasing has ruined this guy’s memory.

“Miss Tang, don’t worry. I’ll definitely get the most crucial evidence, the kind that will leave them unable to explain themselves.”

“I trust Lawyer Gu. You’re meticulous in your work and especially patient.”

Gu Ye laughed bitterly. Yes, he was indeed patient. Helping his future wife catch her husband cheating, and after three years, he still had no results.

His expression remained calm and composed, but inwardly he was cursing furiously. These two people really had too many principles.

Before long, Gu Ye’s irritation faded. According to experience, class reunions were always the easiest place for something to happen. Maybe fate would favor him. If those two got drunk and couldn’t suppress themselves anymore, wouldn’t he finally have his evidence?

Sitting quietly to one side, Gu Ye began calculating things in silence. The scheming look on his face truly wasted that expensive suit and handsome face.

Tang Guo leaned lazily against the sofa, leisurely sipping her coffee while watching the scene on the video. The man and woman inside still hadn’t separated. They kept saying how much they missed each other, how much they loved each other, reluctant to part, until in the end they couldn’t resist and shared a kiss.

Gu Ye secretly observed Tang Guo’s expression. Seeing her smiling happily without the slightest hint of anger, he unconsciously relaxed.

Her lack of anger meant that Luo Yicheng had never occupied a place in her heart.

For some inexplicable reason, Gu Ye’s mood brightened. What was Luo Yicheng so proud of? He had never truly possessed her heart.

Her heart could only belong to him.

Tang Guo glanced at the man who was clearly plotting something and suddenly burst out laughing. Rising to her feet, she said, “Lawyer Gu, I’ll be leaving now.”

“You’re not staying a little longer? The coffee here is really excellent.”

“No.”

Disappointment flashed across Gu Ye’s face, but he quickly cheered himself up again. Pursuing a wife required perseverance. He absolutely couldn’t give up so easily. He had worked hard for three years already; success was practically halfway within reach.

After watching his future wife leave, he hurried off to prepare for monitoring Luo Yicheng’s class reunion.

This was the most critical moment. There was definitely going to be something worth seeing. Experience had taught him that every class reunion contained juicy material waiting to be dug up.

That evening, when Luo Yicheng returned home, he still brought up the matter of the reunion to Tang Guo.

“It’s a reunion for our class.”

“Really? Should I go with you?”

“No, it’s just a gathering among classmates. Honestly, there’s nothing interesting about it. You know what class reunions are like—nothing but those boring little games. Otherwise, it’s just people showing off and flattering each other. I don’t think you’d enjoy that kind of atmosphere.”

Tang Guo smiled and nodded. “That’s true. I really don’t like those kinds of occasions. By the way, when is it?”

“This weekend. We’ll probably stay out pretty late, so you don’t need to save dinner for me. Aunt Xu doesn’t have to wait either—tell her to go to bed early.”

Ever since moving into the villa, Tang Guo had arranged for Aunt Xu to live there as well.

Aunt Xu was a woman of good character and worked diligently. Everyone was very satisfied with her. Besides Aunt Xu, Tang Guo had hired several other helpers to clean the villa, maintain the flowers and shrubs outside, as well as a driver for Mother Luo and Elder Sister Luo.

“All right then. If you drink, just call the driver to pick you up.”

“I know.”

Because he was lying, Luo Yicheng felt somewhat guilty. After pouring their hearts out to each other today, he had already made up his mind. In this life, he absolutely could not miss out on Beibei again. He would find a suitable opportunity to come clean with Tang Guo.

Whatever she wanted to do afterward, he would accept it. He only hoped she would fulfill his wish and allow him and Beibei to be together. Beibei had waited for him all these years, enduring pressure from her family. It had truly not been easy for her.

When the weekend arrived, Luo Yicheng went to attend his class reunion.

Seeing him dressed up more than usual, Mother Luo looked at him curiously. “Is there some sort of banquet? Why aren’t you taking Xiaoguo with you?”

“That’s right, Yicheng,” Elder Sister Luo added out of habit. “You should bring Xiaoguo along no matter what. Your wife is so beautiful. Not taking her out is just a waste.”

These days, her husband loved taking her out everywhere. No matter whose company they were in, she felt particularly proud. Though he was older and not especially handsome, all his thoughts were devoted to her. She had him wrapped around her finger, and he treated only her well.

“It’s not a banquet, just a class reunion. You know what people are like at those things. Everyone just shows off and compares themselves to each other. How could I bring Xiaoguo to that? The games they play are boring too. There’s no need for her to go.”

“Oh, I see.” Elder Sister Luo had attended her own high school reunions before and deeply agreed. “Then it’s better not to go. Just come back early and don’t drink too much.”

Neither she nor Mother Luo reminded him not to let some little temptress steal him away.

Because in their eyes, with Tang Guo around, no such woman could possibly exist.

Tang Guo was simply too wonderful. What woman could compare to her? If Luo Yicheng actually took a fancy to someone else, then he must be blind.

After Luo Yicheng left, Tang Guo noticed the two women looking somewhat bored and suggested, “Mom, Sister, a new movie just came out recently. Would you like to go see it?”

“Is it good? What genre is it?”

“It’s a comedy.”

“Then let’s go watch it.”

Tang Guo accompanied the two of them to the cinema. During that time, she received a message from Gu Ye informing her that his people were already in place. Whatever happened at Luo Yicheng’s reunion would be relayed to her immediately.

Seeing Tang Guo suddenly laugh, Elder Sister Luo asked curiously, “What are you laughing at? Did you see some good news?”

“I came across a joke.”

Not particularly interested, Elder Sister Luo said nothing. Tang Guo collected the tickets, and the three of them entered the theater.

Not long after the movie began, Tang Guo said to Mother Luo, “Mom, I have something to take care of. You and Sister keep watching. After the movie, go wherever you want to have fun. If you decide to go home, just have the driver come pick you up early.”

They both knew Tang Guo was busy and had no reason to suspect anything. Their attention was already completely absorbed by the movie, so they simply nodded vaguely to indicate they understood.

Leaving the theater, Tang Guo headed straight to a nearby café.

As soon as she entered one of the private booths, she found Gu Ye already waiting there.

“Lawyer Gu, have you discovered anything interesting?”

“If there weren’t something interesting, why would I ask Miss Tang to come over?” He shifted to one side, signaling for her to sit down, then handed her the recorded video. “Miss Tang, tell me, isn’t this rather interesting?”
