Chapter 1079: The Flash Marriage Heiress (63)

After failing to pry down the wall, Gu Ye returned to his office with a dark expression. The employees in the firm saw their boss's unhappy face and immediately avoided provoking him.

When other bosses were in bad moods, they docked salaries or forced people to work overtime and go home late.

Gu Ye was different.

Though stingy, he never deducted wages.

But his punishments were even more terrifying than losing money.

Whenever this miserly boss was in a bad mood, he'd start accepting cases like a madman—cases that were extremely difficult but extraordinarily profitable.

That's right, he didn't cut their pay.

He simply made them earn him even more money.

Taking out his phone, Gu Ye said coldly, “Keep a close eye on Luo Yicheng. The moment you get any evidence, I want it in my hands. Don't miss even the slightest detail.”

“I mean it. Not one tiny thing. Understand?”

“Understood, Boss.”

Gu Ye narrowed his eyes. “Their three-year agreement is almost up. Assign someone specifically to watch Qian Beibei. I have a feeling that if we're going to find anything, it'll start with her.”

That woman was hopelessly devoted to Luo Yicheng.

He really couldn't understand what women saw in that useless man. Luo Yicheng had no taste, was a scumbag, wasn't as handsome as him, and certainly couldn't bring in business and make money as well as he could.

Around the office, everyone kept their heads down and pretended to work diligently, not daring to glance around.

Only when they saw Gu Ye staring at his phone with a foolish smile did they quietly breathe sighs of relief.

Ever since two years ago, something had been very wrong with their boss.

The old Gu Ye had spent every day thinking about how to secure business. His eyes were always fixed on wealthy clients. The most lucrative and difficult cases were always handled personally.

But two years ago, he had changed.

He had become strangely distracted.

He often stared at his phone and smiled to himself. Important, highly profitable cases that he once never let go of were now being delegated to them, as though he intended to hand over authority.

And if they refused, they'd get scolded.

They suffered and rejoiced at the same time, making money while wondering what exactly had happened to Boss Gu.

Seeing him smile at his phone and send messages all day, they had already reached one conclusion.

Their boss was probably in an online relationship.

Who knew which underaged girl who hadn't even graduated had managed to captivate him?

If it wasn't online dating, why would he smile foolishly at his phone all day while no actual woman ever appeared?

Gu Ye naturally had no idea what they were thinking.

Scrolling through his phone, every picture was of Tang Guo.

There were photographs from every angle and every position, though all had been taken in public places.

He had principles.

A little candid photography was fine, but angering his future wife was absolutely unacceptable.

Looking at the beautiful woman in the photos, Gu Ye couldn't help imagining what life would be like after they got married.

But remembering the look on Tang Guo's face whenever she spoke of having no interest in romance, he became irritated and desperately wanted to beat up Luo Yicheng.

Unfortunately, aside from Qian Beibei, there really wasn't much wrong with the man.

Gu Ye had already dug up countless details about his life from childhood onward.

There was truly little to criticize, and that only infuriated him more.

Thankfully, he didn't have to wait long for Qian Beibei.

About half a month before the end of the three-year agreement, news arrived about a university class reunion.

Naturally, Luo Yicheng received the invitation as well.

Both of them agreed to attend.

And because of this, Qian Beibei sought out Luo Yicheng to ask him a question.
