Chapter 1044: The Flash Marriage Heiress (28)

"You know how to drive, don't you? I'll pay you the market rate. All you need to do is bring the goods over for me every month."

Luo Yicheng's elder sister's eyes lit up. She exchanged a glance with Luo's mother, and both thought it was an excellent idea.

Not only would she be able to visit her younger brother in the city regularly, but she could also earn money.

There were more and more meat sellers nowadays, and she still had a son and a daughter to support. She couldn't spend the rest of her life farming and helping her husband sell meat.

"Can I really do it?" she asked eagerly.

"Of course. Mom can come along too. If she finds riding in a cargo truck too exhausting, I'll book her a plane ticket. You can just bring the goods over with everyone else."

"Not tiring at all, not tiring at all…" Luo's mother hurriedly said. "This saves money and lets me visit you. Isn't that wonderful?"

Now that her eldest daughter's work had also been settled, Luo's mother was overjoyed. This daughter-in-law of hers was truly wonderful.

Before they parted, Luo's mother and Luo's elder sister held onto Luo Yicheng and lectured him for a long time. In short, he wasn't allowed to mistreat Tang Guo or upset their precious daughter-in-law and sister-in-law. He had to treat her well.

Luo Yicheng almost felt as though he wasn't their biological son anymore and that Tang Guo was the true treasure of their hearts.

The system merely watched from the side. Its host was playing the role of a "perfectly qualified" daughter-in-law and sister-in-law. Secretly, it muttered, "What a wicked woman."

And yet, her wickedness was impossible to fault.

She was simply treating people well. She wasn't hurting anyone, but she had already buried a huge hidden danger for Luo Yicheng's future.

As long as he wasn't tempted by Qian Beibei, nothing would happen.

But if he became entangled with Qian Beibei again...

Heh.

Then just wait and see how he died.

Amid the enthusiastic farewells of the villagers from Luo Family Village, Tang Guo and Luo Yicheng finally returned to the city.

Once back, Luo Yicheng quickly threw himself into work. Thinking of the happy life he had now, he was full of energy every day.

While working diligently and accumulating experience, he deliberately reduced his overtime hours. He spent the time he saved preparing for the business he planned to start next year.

As for Tang Guo, she naturally busied herself expanding the stores under her name.

As soon as she returned, she purchased a large truck and had it driven to Luo Family Village, handing it over to Luo Yicheng's elder sister. After discussing her salary, the latter officially began transporting goods for Tang Guo.

The products in Tang Guo's store were abundant and of excellent quality, all authentic countryside specialties that people had long been eyeing.

Whenever a shipment arrived, Tang Guo simply posted an update on her social media. That very day, numerous wealthy ladies would come to her store to pick out goods.

Tang Guo had Aunt Xu clean out one of the spare rooms in the house.

Every time Luo Yicheng's elder sister came to stay, he would find excuses—business trips, overtime, and so on. Most nights, he wouldn't return until nearly dawn. When he couldn't avoid staying at home, he simply slept on a mattress on the floor.

Tang Guo was more than willing to help him conceal all of this. Even though Luo Yicheng's elder sister visited two or three times a month, she never noticed anything unusual.

By the second month, Luo's mother began accompanying her daughter to the city. Upon seeing that Tang Guo had even hired a housekeeper, she immediately exclaimed, "That must cost a fortune!"

"Mom, think about it. Yicheng and I are busy making money—how could we possibly have time to handle these things ourselves? Especially Yicheng. He's constantly working overtime and barely has time to eat. Ever since Aunt Xu came, she sends lunch and dinner to him every day. That way, he won't ruin his health."

Hearing this, Luo's mother immediately felt that it made perfect sense.

After all, what if he worked himself sick?
