Chapter 1043: The Flash Marriage Heiress (27)
If this brat ever became rich and lost his way, the three siblings would still hold the majority of the shares. If he didn't behave himself, they could kick him out in a heartbeat.
The two brothers exchanged a glance and revealed sinister smiles. As long as they were around, there was no way their little sister would suffer any losses.
If Luo Yicheng knew what was good for him, he'd better behave.
On the day they left, the villagers were especially reluctant to see them go.
The Tang family was simply too easy to get along with. They carried none of the arrogance people associated with city folk. Some of the cleverer villagers even went out of their way to inquire about the Tang family's background.
After learning about their status, all they could do was click their tongues in amazement. For the Luo family's boy to marry such a wealthy young lady, it was truly as if smoke had risen from his ancestral graves.
When Luo's mother heard about the Tang family's standing and influence, she was utterly stunned.
So this family was actually that wealthy.
And that line of cars—every single one cost at least three or four million yuan. Luo's mother felt her heart could hardly withstand it. Looking at Tang Guo, her eyes shone with unrestrained affection.
When Tang Guo was about to leave, Luo's mother grasped her hand tightly, utterly unwilling to part with her.
Luo Yicheng's elder sister was equally reluctant. Her younger brother had finally made something of himself, and as his sister, she was sharing in the blessings.
After spending these past few days together, she had genuinely grown fond of this rich young lady.
Tang Guo was easy to talk to and never once looked down on her for being rough and unrefined. She affectionately called her "Big Sister" every chance she got and had even given her cosmetics and jewelry. Those pieces were especially beautiful.
If she had taken better care of herself over the years, she thought they would surely look wonderful on her.
Both women gazed at Tang Guo with deep reluctance.
"Mom, if you ever want to visit Yicheng and me, just call me directly. I'll book your plane tickets," Tang Guo said with a smile.
Luo's mother immediately replied with distress, "Plane tickets are so expensive. When I come to visit, I'll just take the long-distance bus."
"The bus is too tiring, and the journey is too long. I have money, and Yicheng will earn even more in the future. Can't we afford your and Big Sister's travel expenses? You supported him all these years and raised him into the man he is today. You should be enjoying life now."
"That's right, Mom, Big Sister. Just call me whenever you want to come, and I'll arrange the tickets," Luo Yicheng quickly added.
These past few days, he had truly been happy.
It had been a very long time since he'd seen his mother and elder sister smile so brightly.
Watching them happily open their gifts, guilt crept into his heart.
He had been so busy earning money to buy a house and marry Qian Beibei that he himself had lived frugally. In the process, he had neglected the two people who had struggled and sacrificed to support him all these years—his mother and his elder sister.
For years, he had never properly repaid or thanked these two closest relatives.
Little Guo had thought of everything. She had even repeatedly insisted that all the gifts were bought by the two of them together.
"Mom, next year I'll start my own business. I'll earn even more money then. In the future, I'll buy houses in the city for both of you—one for Mom and one for Big Sister. Our whole family can live in the same neighborhood, and we'll be able to see each other every day."
Luo's mother and his elder sister were so touched that tears welled up in their eyes. They were overjoyed that Luo Yicheng had finally become successful.
But during these past few years, he had been consumed with earning money solely to buy a house and marry Qian Beibei.
He rarely came home more than once or twice a year.
Deep down, they had always felt hurt.
Now that Luo Yicheng had begun thinking about such things, it was mostly because of Tang Guo.
The two women looked gratefully at Tang Guo. This girl had truly been the right choice. The old Luo Yicheng would never have thought so far ahead.
Standing nearby with a gentle smile on her face, Tang Guo suddenly said, "Big Sister, you're free at home most of the time anyway. How about helping me collect the village's local products every month?"
