Chapter 1: Got Dumped on the Day of the Wedding

 Translator's Note

Before we begin—I'll just take a moment of your time! 🌸

I know this is a bit of a wall of text to encounter before the actual novel, so I'll keep it simple: please take a moment to read this first so you know what to expect from this translation. After this chapter, you can happily skip these notes unless there's something new I need to mention. I promise I won't make you read this before every chapter. 😂

I'm sharing this translation simply because I translated this novel for myself, enjoyed it, and thought that perhaps other readers with similar tastes might enjoy it too.

I'm a huge fan of quick-transmigration (快穿) novels, especially the kind where the protagonist is already extremely capable—or becomes overpowered very quickly—and gets to go through different worlds, counterattack, face-slap, and generally make life difficult for people who deserve it.

I usually don't gravitate toward QT novels that focus heavily on favorability points, strategic romance, or elaborate schemes to make a target fall in love with the protagonist. This novel does have some of those elements, but I found that it handled them well enough that I genuinely enjoyed reading it, which is why I ended up translating the entire thing for myself.

And since I enjoyed it so much, I figured: why not share it? If you're someone who enjoys this kind of novel too, I hope you have fun reading it.

A little disclaimer about the translation

I am not a professional translator. This is an AI-assisted translation that I have edited and polished myself, and while I have read through the entire novel in my translated version, there are definitely errors.

There may be typos, inconsistent wording, awkward sentences, missing details, or places where the translation is more compressed than a professional translation would be. When I notice mistakes, I try to fix them, but I'm only one person doing this in my spare time alongside a full-time job and a part-time job. I don't have a professional translator, editor, or proofreader working behind me.

In other words, this was originally made for my own reading, not as a professional publication. I'm sharing it because I thought other readers might enjoy having access to the story too.

So please keep that in mind while reading. If you spot an error, feel free to let me know! Constructive corrections are always welcome, and I'll fix things when I have the time.

What I do ask is that you please be kind❤️ If you find an inconsistency or a spelling mistake, there's no need to curse me out over it *hides*. I promise I'm already aware that this isn't going to have the polish of a professionally licensed translation with a translator, editor, and proofreader.

I read the whole thing myself and was happy with it as a personal translation, but that doesn't mean it's perfect—and I'm not going to pretend that it is.

And finally... please give me recommendations!

One of the reasons I'm sharing this is because I have run out of things to read 😭

If you know any good quick-transmigration novels that haven't been fully translated, haven't been picked up by a translator, or are otherwise difficult to find in English, please tell me about them!

I'm especially interested in:

  • OP or extremely capable MCs
  • MCs who become OP very quickly
  • Face-slapping / counterattack-focused stories
  • MCs who can actually do things rather than spending the entire novel struggling
  • QT with BG, BL, or no romance is fine
  • Pairings are completely okay
  • I'm less interested in QT that is primarily about elaborate romance-conquest strategies, favorability mechanics, or trying to make a male lead fall in love

If you know something that sounds like that, please comment and tell me about it! I'm always looking for new novels, and I'd genuinely love to discuss them with other readers.

So please feel free to comment, recommend novels, point out translation mistakes, or just talk about the story. I'd love to have more people to talk to about QT novels (its kinda also why I decided to do this🙈).  Finally, please support the author if possible 🤞🤞

Happy reading!

July 4th was considered an auspicious day for marriage.

At the entrance of the luxurious Junting Hotel in City A, luxury cars gathered one after another as influential figures from across the city arrived.

They were all here to attend the wedding of Tang Wan, a wealthy woman worth billions.

It was said that the groom was just a poor young man who had recently graduated. Not only did he have no money or status, but his appearance was also completely ordinary. Yet Tang Wan had somehow taken a liking to him because of fate.

Countless men envied him, wondering what kind of virtues his ancestors had accumulated for him to gain such incredible luck and secure decades of comfort in one step.

But what the guests didn’t know was that the groom everyone envied had already run away.

Yes.

He had escaped from the marriage!

Inside the hotel dressing room, Tang Wan trembled with anger as she stared at the apology text message on her phone.

“Wanwan, I’m sorry. I can’t let her down! You already have everything, but she has nothing except me. Without me, she won’t survive! I’m leaving. The wedding is canceled.”

Sun Wu, that bastard, actually dared to run away with another woman on their wedding day?!

Did he really think he could treat her, Tang Wan, like a joke?!

At that moment, another text message notification sounded. Tang Wan opened it and read:

“So what if you’re richer than me? Ah Wu still chose me over you! A money-reeking woman like you doesn’t deserve love at all! No wonder so many men dumped you!”

The next moment, Tang Wan abruptly stood up from her chair, fury burning in her eyes.

...

The staff in the dressing room were all shocked.

What had happened?

How could Tang Wan become this angry on the very day of her wedding?

In the mirror, the woman in the snow-white wedding gown had sharply raised brows and a face full of frost. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with skin as fair as snow. Even in anger, she looked stunning.

How beautiful was she?

Beautiful enough that her rich and handsome fiancé abandoned her and ran away with that pretentious little “innocent” college girl instead.

And now she was actually being mocked for being rich and beautiful?!

To be honest, Sun Wu still fell far short of Tang Wan’s standards for a partner.

But in order to break the curse on her fate of remaining alone forever, she had still agreed to marry him. After all, every one of the ninety-nine boyfriends she had dated before ended up exactly as the fortune teller predicted—they would find their true love within a month and then abandon her, a beautiful and wealthy golden flower, without hesitation.

Sun Wu was the only man who had managed to date her for three whole months without breaking up.

Although the two of them had barely even held hands during that time, Tang Wan knew very well that he had approached her for her money.

But she didn’t care.

As long as she could break her terrible luck, why should she care about his motives?

What she hadn’t expected was that the reason he stayed with her for three months wasn’t because he genuinely wanted to marry her.

He had been planning to make a huge scene on the wedding day instead.

That bastard had actually run away from the marriage on the wedding day!

...

Tang Wan slowly swept her icy gaze across the dressing room.

The next moment, she looked directly at one of the male makeup artists and said, “You. As long as you marry me today, I’ll give you half of the Tang family’s property afterward. I don’t care what you do after the marriage. As long as you complete the wedding ceremony with me today, that’s enough!”

She refused to believe that she, Tang Wan, would remain single for the rest of her life and be unable to even get married!

[1V1. The male lead is devoted to the female lead only.]
